We have an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Environmental Scientist-Planner-Engineer in our Buffalo office. Clients will include various state agencies (NYSDOT, NYSTA, SUCF, DASNY, NYSDEC, OGS, NYCDEP), local governments, and authorities (NYPA, PANYNJ, MTA, etc.) across New York but with an upstate New York focus. Individual projects may include bridge, trail, highway, aviation, building, planning, and institutional redevelopment and expansion projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the completion of environmental assessments and design tasks. Work will include environmental studies and assessments in support of project State SEQR and Federal NEPA reporting requirements. Specialized expertise preferred in one or more areas of practice including: air and noise studies/analyses; historic/cultural resources; ecology/wildlife biology/wetlands; water quality/stormwater; documentation of social/economic/environmental justice impacts, Phase I/II field investigations; and coordination and completion of various regulatory permit applications. Work may also require the development of specifications, drawings, and preliminary cost estimates in support of these projects. The ideal person will have a multi-disciplinary background and also have experience in proposal development and proposal cost estimation. Employee must be equally comfortable in the field and writing reports and conducting analyses.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience
HAZWOPER, OSHA 10, Confined Space, USDOT Transporter, Asbestos, Lead, etc. strongly preferred
Individual must be able to work independently and collaborate with a group
Familiar with State and Federal environmental regulations
Possess a clean driving record
Experience with ARC GIS a plus
Salary
$75,000 to $105,000 based upon experience

Work Duration: Fulltime. The typical workweek is five (5) days a week, eight (8) hours per day, work in the field 80% of the time, while providing 20% of the time daily reporting to Owner project management team.
Day-To-Day Construction Knowledge:
Responsible for providing any or all the following representative services over the course of their assignment(s) related to Environmental Engineering: prepare daily QA reports, perform site surveys, collect existing condition data in the field, documenting QA inspections and observe QC tests, ensure daily Punch Lists are maintained and items are closed out in a timely manner, monitor testing and Inspection 3rd Party Agency activities, interpret construction drawings & specifications, observe and document construction activities with photographs and videos, observe Health and Safety plan conformance, including any lead or asbestos abatement, review and comment on Contractor daily QC reports, prepare meeting minutes, monitor supply chain and procurement deliverables, observe and document startup, turnover and commissioning activities.
Other Daily Position Qualifications:
· Must possess good written skills for daily inspection reports, and other correspondence between Owner and contractor.
· Must possess good oral skills for leadership role and public speaking at meetings
· Must support CLIENT in various other construction related functions such as planning, procurement, estimating, and schedule forecasting.
· Must possess good organizational skills for tracking construction management documents (including but not limited to: Project Photographs, Technical Submittals, Contractor and Vendor Shop Drawings, Risk Register, Request for Information, etc.)
· Must provide Owner Oversight via walk-downs, QA inspections, generation of open & punch list items, and closeout activities like as-built reviews, O&M reviews, and warranty reviews.
· Must function as a liaison between Owner and contractors, assist with resolving conflicts and identifying solutions
· Must perform tasks as quality inspector to maintain conformance with specifications.
