Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
* Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
* Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.

* Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.
* Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables.

Education and Experience
* Minimum of an B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required.

* A minimum of 5 years of working experience in consulting, mining or similar field requiring regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.

This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Your Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
- Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables.
- Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested).
- Ability to work independently and provide a supervisory role in the field at remote sites.
- Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required.
- Experience and/or course work completed in geology, hydrogeology, and production well design and construction, and aquifer test analysis is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in consulting, mining or similar field requiring regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.
- Existing professional registration in Florida or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG).
