Qualifications

Job Overview
Environmental Specialist will keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Responsibilities
* Follow Field Sampling and Measurement Organization accredited procedures to collect data in support of state and federal mandates.
* Conduct fishery studies and species identification in specified areas.
* Perform groundwater sampling and monitoring.
* Collaborate on data management and ecological studies.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, or an Engineering degree.
* Non-degreed technicians must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in groundwater sampling.
* Basic knowledge of environmental chemistry, limnology, fisheries, wildlife, aquatic life, and/or plant life.
* Ability to work in physically demanding environments and challenging weather conditions.
* Proficiency in using environmental monitoring equipment to collect legally defensible data.
* Excellent computer skills, including the use of MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team to achieve common goals.
Work Environment
This is a field-based position requiring comfort with outdoor work year-round, including during inclement weather. The work schedule consists of 10-hour days, four days a week (Monday-Thursday), typically from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional night work and some weekends. The role may require overnight stays on a reoccurring basis throughout the week, primarily supporting projects in the western territory. The work environment is non-hazardous, with no personal protective equipment or medical monitoring required.
