As an Environmental Services Technician, you'll play an essential part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
In this role, you'll be responsible for daily cleaning and restocking throughout the hospital and its facilities, following the standards set by our Environmental Services and Infection Prevention and Control departments.
These positions do require an every-other-weekend commitment as part of our regular scheduling.
We currently have multiple shifts available. (Openings are reviewed regularly based on the needs of the department and are subject to change.)
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities
Understands how soiling occurs and the difference between soluble and insoluble soils, and the cleaning process involved.
Maintains a clean, stocked, and organized cleaning cart and Environmental Services closet per department policy.
Knowledgeable about the specific use of Environmental Services chemicals and their dilution rates.
Performs dust mopping and wet/microfiber mopping on hard surface floors.
Vacuums carpeted areas using an upright vacuum cleaner.
Handles and disposes of all waste streams, including regulated waste in the hospital.
Cleans and handles intravenous pumps (IV or Sigma Smart Pumps).
Cleans in-patient rooms daily.
Implements A.I.D.E.T. (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and Greet and Feet techniques, understanding their impact on patient surveys.
Performs discharge and transfer cleaning in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
Follows isolation cleaning procedures, using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsible for cleaning offices, conference rooms, and furniture arrangement.
Proficient in cleaning procedures for laboratory settings.
Routinely cleans public and non-public restrooms and locker rooms.
Conducts between-case and terminal cleaning in special procedure areas.
Cleans the pharmacy clean (IV) room.
Reports facility repair issues (e.g., wall patching, ceiling tiles, leaks) to leadership and submits work orders as needed.
Maintains all equipment (cleaning carts, vacuums, pagers) following department guidelines.
Performs general maintenance of hard and soft flooring.
Adheres to safety procedures with chemicals and equipment use; reports discrepancies.
Reports injuries to leadership and submits appropriate injury reports.
Completes all duties proficiently and within designated time frames.
Participates in required training, meetings, and completes annual learning modules on time.
Familiar with departmental policies and procedures, monitoring communication boards.
Performs other related work as required or requested.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Environmental, you will serve as the Sr. Environmental Specialist responsible for optimizing the daily performance of wastewater treatment systems across Conagra's manufacturing network. You will lead initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency of lagoon treatment, dissolved air flotation (DAF), neutralization, and equalization systems while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. **Your Impact**
+ Serve as the subject matter expert on wastewater treatment process design, control, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS teams to evaluate system modifications and upgrades.
+ Lead process monitoring and optimization of lagoon treatment, DAF, equalization, and neutralization systems. Evaluate biological and chemical treatment performance through sampling, laboratory analysis, and data trending. Develop operational playbooks.
+ Travel to various sites to identify and implement process improvements that optimize treatment efficiency, energy use, and chemical consumption.
+ Support daily operation of pumps, aerators, clarifiers, and other treatment infrastructure across the manufacturing network.
+ Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local wastewater discharge permits and environmental regulations.
+ Set standards for operational logs, sampling records, and performance reports.
+ Support preparation of permit applications, renewals, and regulatory inspections.
+ Develop and deliver training for operators and plant personnel on treatment system operation, safety, and best practices.
**Your Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in operation and optimization of industrial or municipal wastewater treatment systems.
+ Experience in lagoon treatment systems, DAF units, neutralization, and equalization processes.
+ Experience interpreting data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions.
+ Experience with SCADA systems, laboratory testing, and process control strategies.
+ Explain technical requirements to non-technical audiences.
+ Experience with wastewater solids management and agricultural land application preferred.
+ Wastewater operator certification or EIT / PE strongly preferred.
