The Site is a world class facility supporting Qnity business units such as Kalrez USA LLC, HD Microsystems and EKC Advanced Electronics USA, LLC. Our successful candidate will be primarily responsible for satisfying the Site's EHS compliance obligations and identifying & driving continuous improvement programs. A successful EHS Specialist will be required to do the following.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership in overall management of EHS in the plant.
Develops, implements and maintains EHS policies and procedures to comply with safety laws, regulations and standards.
Works with Qnity Electronics EHS specialist and industrial hygienist to implement and maintain policies and procedures to comply safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations and standards.
Drive incident investigations to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions
Coordinates and supports plant safety, health and environment management programs and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Description

Specific to the Position
The Position would be the supervisor who oversees the administration of district solid waste management plans. In addition, this position will supervise staff that are researching and would potentially implement new legislation, rule promulgation, implementation of new rules and education and outreach for new and existing rules. Finally, this unit will be responsible for the management of the Recycling Enhancement Act's grant funding as well as the municipal tonnage reports.

NOTE: A valid Professional Engineer's license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in environmental control work including field investigations, inspection, and preparing reports on the environment or the preparation or review of Environmental Impact Statements, one (1) year of which shall have included supervisory responsibilities including preparation of employee evaluations of staff involved in technical or scientific work.

Under direct supervision of Project Managers, interface with and respond to regulatory and enforcement agencies at the project site. Provide requested information depending upon issue involved when appropriate.
Maintain chain of custody of sampling activity, analytical data and project recordkeeping (log book) in accordance with regulatory requirements and Chubb Global Risk Advisors' recordkeeping responsibilities.
Maintain proficiency and understanding in the use of scientific instruments and sampling protocols to ensure valid sample collection and reliable data analysis in compliance with regulations.
Maintain high ethical standards in the performance of services, and understand the ethical standards of client and report actual or perceived unethical conduct or behavior.
Under direct oversight of a Project Manager, understand project details, schedule and scope of work, and provide supporting information to Project Managers when change orders may be required.
Maintain required certifications mandated by the regulations and take an active role in maintaining respiratory fitness through Chubb Global Risk Advisors medical surveillance program.

Specific duties or tasks of the Indoor Environmental Quality Consultant include the following:
Assist in the development of and implementation of project work plans for tasks which involve area of experience or expertise.
Perform sampling programs involving collection of soil, water, asbestos, paint chip, air emissions, indoor air or waste samples.
Operate standard environmental monitoring instruments.
Record field data, observations and analytical results.
Manage subcontractors on\-site work activities; oversees client's retained contractor during environmental remediation activities.

Requirements Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an environmental science, health, engineering, or other scientific discipline.
3+ years of work experience in a technical or scientific capacity, or equivalent experience in the environmental consulting field.
Appropriate technical certificates recognizing specific training or expertise in a discipline related to Chubb Global Risk Advisors' core services (asbestos and lead certifications for inspection and project monitoring). Current State of Maryland Asbestos Inspector highly preferred.

Interns will primarily assist with the installation and maintenance of deer exclosures, removal of invasive plant species, tree planting, trail mapping and maintenance, native plant propagation and greenhouse work, and collection of monitoring data.
