As an Environmental Services Technician, you'll play an essential part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
In this role, you'll be responsible for daily cleaning and restocking throughout the hospital and its facilities, following the standards set by our Environmental Services and Infection Prevention and Control departments.
These positions do require an every-other-weekend commitment as part of our regular scheduling.
We currently have multiple shifts available. (Openings are reviewed regularly based on the needs of the department and are subject to change.)

Responsibilities
Understands how soiling occurs and the difference between soluble and insoluble soil and what occurs during the cleaning process.
Keeps cleaning cart and Environmental Services closet clean, stocked, and organized as described by department policy.
Understands the specific use of all Environmental Services chemicals and their dilution rates.
Performs hard surface floor dust mopping and hard surface floor wet/microfiber mopping.
Vacuums carpeted surfaces utilizing an upright vacuum cleaner.
Handles and disposes all waste streams generated including regulated waste in the hospital setting.
Cleans and handles intravenous pumps (IV or Sigma Smart Pumps).
Cleans in-patient rooms daily.
Performs A.I.D.E.T. (acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation, thank you) and Greet and Feet techniques as described in policy and has a general understanding of how they affect a 3rd party patient survey process.
Performs discharge/transfer cleaning procedures in both the in-patient and out-patient settings.
Performs and has a solid understanding of all isolation cleaning and precaution procedures utilizing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Responsible for office cleaning, conference room cleaning and furniture set-up/arrangement.
Proficient in, performs, and has a solid understanding of the unique cleaning procedures in the laboratory setting.
Routinely cleans public and non-public restrooms and locker rooms.
Performs between case and terminal cleaning in both the in-patient and out-patient in special procedure areas.
Cleans the pharmacy clean (IV) room.
Reports all noted facility repair issues (wall patching/painting, ceiling tile replacement, leaking fixtures, burnt out lights, etc.) to department leadership and/or submits appropriate work orders.
Maintains all equipment (cleaning carts, upright vacuums, pagers, etc.) within department guidelines.
Performs general maintenance of hard/soft flooring.
Follows departmental safety procedures with chemical and equipment use and reports any noted discrepancies.
Reports any obtained or witnessed injuries to department leadership and submits an appropriate injury report as required.
All duties are completed proficiently and within the designated time frames.
Participates in all required trainings, meetings, and completes annual required computer based learning modules within designated time frames.
Follows and is familiar with all departmental policies and procedures and monitors all department communication boards.
Performs other related work as required or requested.

Position Expectations:
* Responsible for most aspects of case management/project management with senior oversight.
* Prepares technically accurate, complete and concise work plans based on evaluation of site data needs.
* Performs or manages the implementation of project work plans including staff briefing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination and sample collection.
* Evaluates, analyzes and interprets technical data relative to project-specific goals, creates and interprets accurate data display graphs and figures, completes basic fate and transport analysis, and identifies data gaps and data needs leading to development of a Conceptual Site Model.
* Works with and mentors junior staff to ensure all resources are in place for proper fieldwork and reporting execution.
* Develops and manages budgets, evaluates budget vs. plan and analyzes cost control efficiencies.
* Communicates with clients, third party and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules and compliance issues.
* Ensures adherence to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment.
Skills & Requirements
* Must be agreeable to regular travel, including overnight travel, in the Great Lakes Region (PA, OH, MI, IL and MN).
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
* 1-5 years of related experience. Experience must include hands on field and office based in environmental consulting field. Case management experience on retail petroleum and/or industrial projects preferred.
* Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills and be able to independently prepare a complete deliverable report with a focus on QA/QC.
* Must have working knowledge of IL environmental regulations.
* Experience associated with environmental permitting that includes natural resources inventory, wetland delineations, species assessments, and environmental sampling (chemical and biological) is a plus.
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, geologic logging/cross section programs required.

In this role, you'll be responsible for daily cleaning and restocking throughout the hospital and its facilities, following the standards set by our Environmental Services and Infection Prevention and Control departments.
These positions do require an every-other-weekend commitment as part of our regular scheduling.

Cleans and handles intravenous pumps (IV or Sigma Smart Pumps).
Cleans in-patient rooms daily.
Performs A.I.D.E.T. (acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation, thank you) and Greet and Feet techniques as described in policy and has a general understanding of how they affect a 3rd party patient survey process.
Performs discharge/transfer cleaning procedures in both the in-patient and out-patient settings.
Performs and has a solid understanding of all isolation cleaning and precaution procedures utilizing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
