QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree or Ph.D. from an accredited university in microbiology, molecular biology or related course work in biological sciences, and REQUIRES at least one (1) year of laboratory bench experience utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR), aseptic techniques and biological assays, and at least one (1) year of experience serving as a Senior Scientist or Team Leader of a laboratory team/project.

Description

Specific to the Position
The Position would be the supervisor who oversees the administration of district solid waste management plans. Finally, this unit will be responsible for the management of the Recycling Enhancement Act's grant funding as well as the municipal tonnage reports.

The Qnity Electronics Parlin NJ manufacturing site is seeking a motivated professional Environmental Specialist to support its multi-business facility, to provide Environmental and/or Health and Safety technical support within the MidAtlantic Hub. This position is located in Parlin, New Jersey. The Site is a world class manufacturing facility providing resins and adhesives used in the semi-conductor, automotive, aerospace and electronics industries. Serve as the technical expert on all matters relating to the site's air pollution control, water and waste infrastructure, associated regulatory compliance programs, and emissions.

Develop air dispersion modeling using regulator-approved modeling programs.
Interpret local, state and federal air regulations then develop and implement air compliance programs, inspections, and guidance documents to ensure site compliance.

About the role:
The primary purpose of this position is to receive and process samples from outside clients as well as field personnel.
About you:
Will receive samples from outside clients and field service personnel and inspect for proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.
Will accurately log samples into the laboratory LIMS system.
Will be responsible for transporting samples to appropriate storage locations and disposing of expired samples
Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
Ensure compliance with assigned SOP's, QA manual and ALS Client Service Manual.
Professional appearance and conduct to both ALS staff and clients.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualification:
Desire to work in an administrative position in a laboratory setting.
Detail oriented - able to accurately interpret and transcribe information from a client chain of custody into the laboratory computer system.
Good typing / data entry skills.
Familiarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology.
Have a demonstrated ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
Proven ability to learn new concepts quickly.
Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies
High School Diploma / GED required, B.S. preferred.
Physical Demands:
The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis (may request and use a dolly for situations requiring heavy loads).
Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.
Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Specific to the Position
Analyze complex owner & operational histories for sites requiring remediation and write the results including text and maps/figures. Provide research and litigation support for SRP cases where remediation is lacking and required. Understand the laws, regulations and guidance related to site remediation. Understand the technical and administrative aspects to site remediation. Use NJEMS and GIS as part of data management and research.
Preferred Skill Set
Knowledge of NJEMS; Knowledge of investigatory and Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment enforcement procedures.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences,
