Your Opportunity
Stantec's Denver-based Environmental Services team is growing, and we have a need for an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic Project Level candidate to join our thriving site investigation and remediation practice. The candidate for this role is intended to perform field and office tasks associated with environmental site assessments, due diligence, and remediation projects. The opportunity will include coordinating and conducting data collection; coordinating and overseeing subcontractors; data interpretation/evaluation; deliverable preparation; project / program tracking; and internal and external communication. The primary focus of this role will be management of site investigation and remediation efforts at select sites that make up part of a larger portfolio of work.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate field activities and subcontractors (such as with laboratories, private locators, and drillers)
- Perform field work, which may include Phase I ESA site visits, groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, soil logging, soil sample collection, and asbestos building inspections
- Represent Stantec by interacting in a professional manner with clients, property owners, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders while on field assignments;
- Demonstrate sound application of established practices, standards and guidelines;
- Complete applicable company- and client-required health and safety trainings (including OSHA required training).
- Strict adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate with client (with oversight from client manager) and determine a path forward for select sites within existing portfolios.
- Oversee the implementation of field projects.
- Prepare technical documents / reports from start to finish, providing a "complete product" for internal to review.
- Interact and effectively communicate with team members.
- Proficient in policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training, and applies these policies and procedures as appropriate to their work.
- Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, good work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time in remote locations.
- Ability to work outside during adverse weather conditions.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$67,300.00 - $97,600.00 Annually
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

This position requires a senior level environmental professional responsible for leading complex environmental projects. Primary duties will be to provide consulting services for a broad array of environmental projects, including Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Investigations, Remediation, and Regulatory Compliance. The candidate must be able to identify, evaluate, and recommend remediation strategies/designs to address environmental impacts. This may include leading environmental site investigations, design and development of plans and specifications, engineering analysis, observation, inspection, and reporting. Duties will include the preparation of applicable technical documents including proposals, reports, remedial action strategies, and regulatory agency correspondence.
You will manage all aspects of environmental projects to ensure they are safely completed on time and within scope and budget. You are responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitoring progress and performance against the project plan. You will troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. You may be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors or contractors. You will conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project to the project team and client. Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and a minimum of 10 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years' related experience.
* Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Target Salary Range $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Responsibilities Tier 1 Responsibilities 1. Collects, transports, and processes hazardous and potentially hazardous chemical, biological, and radiological materials or waste. 2. Operates and maintains vehicles and equipment (carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, fume hoods, etc) according to standard protocols. 3. Maintains and updates the hazardous and regulated waste cradle-to-grave database management system and ensures appropriate documentation for on Campus items. 4. Maintains the Regulated Waste Management Facility and supporting equipment as directed. 5. Uses necessary personal protective equipment ( PPE ) based on potential chemical or biological exposure. Must be capable of wearing a tight-fitting air purifying respirator. 6. Assists with mitigation of emergencies and spills involving chemical and biological materials. Tier 2 Responsibilities 1. Coordinates and assists researchers and staff with lab moves and lab clean-outs. 2. Consolidates or bulks compatible waste materials into drums. 3. Assists in laboratory inspections to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory and University of Utah policy and procedures. 4. Informs researchers of proper waste labeling and storage. 5. Coordinates with waste transporters and vendors supplying equipment and/or materials. 6. Develops and maintains databases for the hazardous waste program. Analyzes information to identify areas for quality improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate with two years of experience in a field related to organic/inorganic Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering, or on-the-job training in environmental protection compliance or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Working knowledge of computer programs and applications. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Applicants must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and traverse rough terrain in a variety of weather conditions. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with two or more years of college education in the Natural Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering, and who have completed an accredited hazardous materials management or construction site stormwater inspector curriculum. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding hazardous and regulated waste management, transportation, air quality, and stormwater management is also preferred. Depending on the area of assignment, incumbents will be required to complete the following within six months of their hire date: pass a baseline medical examination with annual checkups and be cleared to wear negative and positive pressure respirators and personal protective equipment; obtain and maintain a valid Utah commercial driver's license with a hazardous materials endorsement; obtain a Visible Emissions Observer ( VEO ) certification; and complete 24-hour emergency operations training as outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ( OSHA ), unless in possession of current certification in OSHA 24-hour Emergency Responder or 40-hour HazWOPER.
