In this role you will work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water, transportation, pipeline, renewable energy, power infrastructure, and building engineering and development projects. You will work under the supervision of an experienced environmental manager gaining valuable industry knowledge. You will support federal, state (primarily NJ and NY), and local environmental permits, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation. You will assist senior and other mid-level scientists in field work and processing data associated with the collection of natural resource data.
Primary Responsibilities
* Function as an EnvironmentalScientist for natural resources field studies and environmental permitting.
* Perform wetland delineations, ecological and/or biological field surveys and assessments, data interpretation, analysis, and report writing with oversight from senior staff. Report writing would include wetland and watercourse delineation reports, biological assessments, monitoring reports, mitigation plans and related documents.
* Assist in the development of Clean Water Act 404/401 applications, NEPA environmental assessments or impact statements, natural resources and environmental permitting strategies and report preparation.
* Assist in the development of NJDEP Division of Land Resources Protection permit applications (Waterfront Development, CAFRA, Flood Hazard Area, Coastal and Freshwater Wetlands).
* Familiarity with permit development and compliance documentation in NYS including: Joint Permit Applications, NYSDEC Protection of Waters, Coastal Erosion Management, Freshwater/Tidal Wetlands Permits, Industrial SPDES and other environmental and related permits.
* Familiarity with permit applications in NYC including: CEQR, NYC Dept City Planning Waterfront Revitalization Program, NYC Landmark Preservation Commission NYC Parks and Recreation, DEP SWPPP approval process.
* Define the level of environmental analysis needed including assessing and analyzing project impacts to identify permit requirements; and develop strategies to avoid or minimize impacts and permit requirements including constraints mapping.
* Prepare and review technical sections of environmental impact statements (EIS), environmental assessments (EA), natural and cultural resource reports, and other environmental documents.
* Prioritize tasks and deliver multiple projects concurrently with oversight from senior staff.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Wetland delineation and vegetation identification training for delineation of Waters of the United States in accordance with federal requirements.
* Significant experience performing wetlands, aquatics, terrestrial or other field surveys to support permitting and environmental compliance related tasks.
* Experience coordinating with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Experience using mobile data collection tools and GPS equipment.
* Ability to travel for field assignments and conduct field work in difficult or remote conditions with overnight durations throughout the region.
* Ability to navigate difficult terrain for long durations.
* 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training.
* Other potentially applicable certifications including: Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Wildlife Biologist, ISA Arborist, Professional Ecologist, Ecological Restoration Practitioner

Position Purpose:

**Job Description**
**Position Purpose:**
Under the direction of Manager of New Business, this person will develop, implement and manage capital improvement projects for transmission, distribution and treatment systems, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design, cost-estimations, bidding, construction supervision, start up process, as-built plans, refunds calculations, easement agreements and O&M manuals for all New Business Projects. Responsibilities will include capital project delivery from inception to completion, including preliminary conceptual development, detailed engineering design with support of external engineering consultants; construction cost estimation, procurement, construction administration, supervision and inspection, startup and commissioning, and project closeout documentation delivery, including as-built plans. The Project Manager will mainly manage all New Business projects for the Hackensack/Franklin Lakes system. Incumbent will also assist with New Business projects in the Highlands systems located in Passaic and Sussex Counties, in New Jersey as needed. This position will work on both water and wastewater networks; however, the majority of projects and responsibilities are in water. The most critical and unique aspect of this role involves managing complex coordination among diverse internal and external stakeholders and translating Veolia's technical requirements to developers and contractors.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Manage complex coordination among diverse internal and external stakeholders.
+ Main point of contact for developer-funded main extensions and complicated service installations.
+ Translate Veolia's technical requirements to external stakeholders - developers and contractors.
+ Prepare preliminary, engineering, and detailed cost estimates.
+ Project budget development and cost tracking and expenditure forecasting. Track and report on project expenditures to ensure they are aligned with budget and prioritize projects based on available funding and risk assessment.
+ Manage several projects simultaneously ranging in scope from small to very large.
+ Prepare bid documents and coordinate procurement with supply chain management (SCM) department.
+ Prepare material requisitions forms (MSRs).
+ Prepare funding projects and updating asset data base for newly created assets.
+ Manage pipe condition assessment projects.
+ Provide engineering support (on and off-site) during emergencies and large main breaks and other emergencies.
+ Mainly manage New Business Department new extensions projects.
+ Communicate regularly in written form (email, memoranda, reports, status updates, etc.) and verbally (group meetings, virtual calls, internal presentations, external presentations).
+ Prepare refund calculations for developer-funded water main extensions.
+ Track developments for annual master permit updates.
+ Review / approve all fire suppression calculation reports associated with any new or enlarged fire service.
+ Work independently to manage all capital programs and specific projects for the New Business Department. Work directly with the Operations and T&D group to understand their needs in meeting operational, compliance, and health & safety goals.
+ Manage the design (either internal or external) and construction of small and large New Business Engineering projects.
+ Provide support to the Director of Engineering & Manager of Network Engineering and the Rates Department as needed during the preparation of the rate case filling, DSIC filing as well as responding to the rate case and DSIC interrogatories.
+ Assist the Director of Engineering & Manager of Network Engineering in developing analysis and reports to be provided to regulators, internal or external customers as required.
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
+ Strong experience and expertise in Network Engineering utility projects and project management is required for this role.
+ Experience in managing Network Engineering utility projects projects.
+ Experience in managing and adhering to project budgets and schedules.
+ 6 years + of engineering experience in related field.
+ ESRI/GIS, PowerPlan, INFOR/Hexagon experience is a plus.
+ Hydraulic Modeling experience is a plus.
+ Strong experience and expertise in Network Engineering utility projects and project management is required for this role.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Possesses broad knowledge of multiple processes and/or engineering disciplines, augmented with good experience and seasoning, to the point where he/she can address complex projects or address complex challenges, such as leading a response to an emergency.
+ Must be able to propose capital projects, or identify other work that will benefit VEOLIA and/or its customers, based on their expertise in one or more areas.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills.
+ Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
+ Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
**Required Certification/Licenses/Training:**
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.

**Pay Range:** $95000 to $105000 per year.

Responsibilities
The position in the Engineering Services Department is an integral part of a fast-paced group working on development projects for new and existing material processing facilities. Engineering Services is an internal consulting arm to supports all aspects of Posillico facilities including obtaining town and environmental permits and ensuring all compliance aspects of these permits are performed and helping with the solid waste approval and management processes. Environmental Data Review:
Posillico manages facilities in NY and NJ that accept soil for recycling or disposal.
The main project role is to help with the reviews and approvals for incoming soil applications for facilities in NJ and NY.
Strong understanding of NYSDEC and NJDEP soil cleanup objectives
Strong understanding of environmental data and comparing to regulatory limits

Project Manager - Environmental Due Diligence
The Senior Project Manager within AEI's Due Diligence division will perform various environmental due diligence projects focused on commercial real estate. The ideal candidate will have previous experience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) projects and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ESA projects focused on Agency lenders and Agency investor platforms in the commercial real estate sector, and also has superior customer service, writing, time management, and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental reviews
State and federal regulatory program file reviews
Field investigations
Basic understanding of commercial real estate lending and finance
Performance of environmental due diligence projects
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of previous experience performing environmental due diligence projects, such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) preferred
Previous experience performing Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) projects focused on Agency lenders and Agency investor platforms in the commercial real estate sector preferred
Excellent writing, organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills required
