The candidate will be responsible for conducting and managing Phase I and Phase II environmental investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, project scheduling, staff mentoring, budget control, and meeting and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies, including familiarity working with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic and Substances Control, the Regional Water Quality Control Board and the local Environmental Health agencies. Duties of the Project Geologist/Engineer will also include providing technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists, and field technicians.
Education: B.S. Degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field and appropriate related professional registration/certification (e.g., California Professional Geologist or Civil Engineer) preferred. An advance degree is a plus.
Required Skills: The successful candidate will need to have 5-10 years of recent professional environmental consulting experience conducting most or all of the duties described above. The ideal candidate will bring local experience and familiarity with the geologic and engineering practice and a strong knowledge of state and federal regulations. The candidate should be a team player, be detail oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Also, must have proficiency with Word, Excel, and Adobe. Experience with construction activities is also desired.

**The Team**
Our Environmental team is a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, engineers, scientists, project managers, and attorneys working together to identify optimum environmental solutions for our clients. We have provided environmental consulting services in support of projects for over 40 years including a diverse and growing mix of infrastructure projects such as power generation (conventional and renewable) and transmission, oil and gas facilities and pipelines, water and wastewater treatment facilities, data centers, and food and beverage industries. As a full-service environmental consulting practice, services include impact assessment and planning, regulatory compliance and permitting, wetland and floodplain analysis, waterbody and water quality assessment, air quality permitting and management, environmental remediation, site due diligence, environmental noise assessment, pollution prevention planning, and climate action solutions.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead NEPA Documentation Efforts:
+ Manage and prepare comprehensive EISs and EAs in compliance with NEPA requirements.

* Experience conducting Phase I, II and III environmental site assessment including drilling observation, sampling, well installation, construction/remediation oversight;
* Experience performing small and large scale groundwater treatment system design, operation and maintenance, and optimization;
* Experience providing litigation support services for expert witness projects, or similar;
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of state and federal environmental regulations (including CERCLA and RCRA);

Assessment Work activities will include sorting through solid waste using hand tools to segregate waste items by type for the purpose of assessing various types of waste including plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, food waste and regulated materials. Assisting with the separation of the waste, weighing and inventorying items for the purpose of data analysis and reporting.
Work requires the ability to bend and lift 30 pounds or less, willingness to work in Tyvek safety suits, wear required safety equipment, and ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS
Manage multiple projects concurrently
Oversee quality control throughout the project's life cycle
Coordinating the efforts of Partner team members to deliver projects according to plan
Cultivate strong relationships with the Partner team members and the Client in order to successfully deliver a quality within a designated time frame.
Mentor staff
This position will require exposure and adaptability to several technical disciplines
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the project from the Proposal stage through submittal of the final report. This may include but is not limited to the following
Perform quality assurance (QA) review and quality control (QC) of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including text and appendices.
Generate proposals, engage subcontractors and field staff, monitor project progress, and communicate with clients.
Effectively communicate project expectations (i.e. Client-specific SOW, templates) to team members and staff in a timely and clear fashion throughout the course of the project.
Provide solid recommendations and solutions to relationship managers and clients, while understanding the assessment's potential impact on the transaction process.
Identify and resolve issues with projects.
Deliver appropriate progress reports (verbally or by e-mail), and recommendations to the relationship manager and Client.
Manage client follow-up, questions, and concerns.
Communicate and coordinate follow up questions with field staff during review process
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members.
Coordinate and respond to client requests for changes in project scope, and address revisions.
Facilitate delivery of final report and invoice.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of ASTM-1527-05 and the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process as well as the Phase II/Site Investigation process.
Excellent communication skills (internal and external)
Strong focus on customer service
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
Proven ability to successfully deliver a quality product on time
Exceptional writing skills
Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
Understanding of the concept of environmental consulting as it pertains to risk management and due diligence

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a similar technical discipline.
5 to 7 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, due diligence, or risk management-related services.

Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen

Compensation:
Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000. This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role
The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.

Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2026 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.
Responsibilities
* Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
* Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
* Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, ecological risk assessments etc.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
