What You'll Do:

What you'll need:

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES SECTION
The Environmental Services Section plays a critical role in supporting the mission of the Public Works Agency by integrating environmental stewardship into the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the County's transportation and flood control infrastructure. This section ensures that all projects and operations comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations, while promoting sustainable practices that protect natural resources and enhance community resilience.
Working closely with the Agency's engineering, maintenance, and construction divisions, the Environmental Services Section provides expert guidance and oversight throughout the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) delivery process. Staff coordinate environmental reviews and permitting under CEQA, NEPA, and other regulatory frameworks to facilitate timely project approvals and minimize environmental impacts. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Conejo Valley Unified School District Outdoor School is a residential program for 6th grade students. The program is held at Camp Bloomfield, a 40-acre camp located 2.5 miles inland from the Leo Carrillo State Park in Malibu, California. The Outdoor School program runs from mid-February until mid-April, 2010 which includes a paid training and preparation week. The program runs from Monday-Friday, with an exchange of student groups on Wednesdays. Room and board are included for Outdoor School staff during weekdays only. Weekend housing may be possible with prior arrangements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach 6th grade students science and environmental education concepts through outdoor adventure activities. Under general direction, conduct an activity oriented, interdisciplinary curriculum in science and environmental field study in an outdoor setting. Assist with the supervision of high school student cabin counselors. Maintain a supportive and collaborative work environment with fellow naturalists, cabin leaders, Camp Bloomfield support staff, and outdoor school coordinator.
