APTIM is currently seeking an energetic and motivated environmental engineering intern to join our team of engineers and scientists in support various project activities. The successful candidate will be a hands-on student who is dedicated to learning while completing assigned tasks with both ingenuity and pragmatism. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to acquire real-world knowledge and skills that will help focus efforts on the most appropriate field of study. This is a Temporary position. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Work tasks will be completed in the field at active project sites and in the office. All work will be subject to review by experienced engineering and science staff. Under the supervision of an experienced team member, apply engineering skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks. Collaborate with current engineering staff in the interpretation of engineering data, conduct engineering analyses, and perform calculations and modeling utilizing appropriate software packages. Participate in field tasks including but not limited to collection of environmental samples from various media (e.g., groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, and gas). Assistance in implementing remedial actions designed by professional engineering staff. Investigates permit applications, field reviews, wetland delineations, and defines jurisdictional limits of wetlands. Investigates site mitigation and reviews as built drawings to assure compliance with specifications. Investigates and resolves citizen complaints related to noise, air or water quality. Takes water samples from water bodies and tributaries to determine quality and habitat information. The MT controls the contaminant at its source. The MT physically removes the contamination. The MT takes effort to correct any and all moisture problems to prevent recontamination.
