Job Responsibilities The Environmental Staff Scientist will assist in the implementation of turn-key groundwater and soil remediation designs utilizing our custom designed injection trailers equipped with specialized tanks, pumps, hoses, flow meters, pressure gauges, and injection tooling at project sites around the United States. Responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience. * Responsible for completing as assigned, daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas. * Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of the healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements. Displays safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment. * Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. * May be asked to perform tasks according to the various facility needs, including but not limited to: conference room set ups, cleaning of stairwells and elevators, and hanging of cubicle curtains. * May be asked to mentor new Environmental Services Tech I employees. * Ability to collaborate with others as we are a part of the patient care team. * Other duties as assigned. This position is responsible to provide operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must possess ability to perform tasks related to Emergency Haz Mat situations and will be required to use a variety of specialized equipment under supervision. Job Responsibilities Work with the Environmental Emergency Response Teams, Transportation, Fixed Facility and Site Remediation Projects Ensure work is completed according to measurements, specifications, drawings, plans, or other materials/instructions Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed, including, but not limited to, safe lifting, personal protective equipment, and chemical labeling Proactively communicate issues and problems that may or are affecting completion of the job to the responsible Project Manager. Learn and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation processes Perform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition Must maintain attention to detail Comply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods. Decontaminate equipment or sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances. Prepare hazardous waste for processing or disposal. Use of proper lifting techniques, use of slide pads, use of Styrofoam blocks, care and protection of customer personal belongings Will be required to meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people's property Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines Will be required to work nights and weekends as requested as travel periodically Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required Requirements: Respond in a timely manner to emergency spills and environmental cleanup situations Interact with emergency services including but not limited to first, local and state police, EMS and regulatory agencies. Train employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use. Conduct a fit test the first day of the week and on the first day of a new job for all employees who are required to wear respirators. Record mileage as required and download time records every evening.
