Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $90k-$110k/year ($45-$55/hour). Interpret laboratory analytical results for compliance with solid waste facility permits and recycling facility approvals. Continually seek settlement of penalty assessments to avoid trial, however, provide trial testimony as necessary. Skillfully operate field equipment to gauge atmospheric and soil gas readings, magnetometry readings, and GPS readings while documenting compliance with solid waste and recycling facility permit/approval conditions. Appropriately select, don and maintain health and safety equipment.

EDUCATION:

Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a detail oriented, well organized, dependable Geology or Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering intern to join our Hillsborough, NJ office in Summer 2026. This internship opportunity requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
Role accountabilities:
Field activities may include the following:
* Oversight of drilling operations (installing monitoring wells and soil or rock descriptions)
* Soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards
* Emergency response
* Operation and maintenance of subsurface remediation systems
Field activities may also include oversight of subcontractors, conducting aquifer pump testing, and supervising the inspection, testing, and repair or alteration of underground and aboveground storage tanks.
Office responsibilities may include the following:
* Data management (compilation, manipulation, and evaluation of data)
* Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
* Preparing cost estimates and proposals
* Coordinating work schedules with subcontractors
Other office responsibilities may include conducting project-related research-such as gathering historical data and reviewing relevant regulations-preparing periodic status and program reports, and producing figures, maps, and boring logs to support project documentation and analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Pursuing a BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related science discipline.
