Summary
Conducts removal, replacement, and/or alignment on all body parts and components fastened to NJ Transit Busses.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Ability to perform body work and accident repairs.
Ability to lay out work, fabricate items as needed, and assemble same.
Demonstrate ability with the use of tools - hydraulic pistons, come-a-longs, - porta-powers, frame straightening devices, etc.
Must be able to remove, replace and/or align all body parts and components that are fastened on the bus (MCI, Nova, Neoplan, and Nabi Coaches).
Must be able to work in confined areas using respirators and full air supplied self-contained overalls.
Ability to fill and sand body parts and fiberglass.
Must be able to cut and tack weld.
Must be able to fill out forms; be able to read and understand parts manuals required in carrying out duties for this position.
Must have a valid CDL license, Class B with "P" endorsement and medical certificate.
Accurately fill out daily time tickets.
Keep area clean, uncluttered, and safe. Must follow established Shop safety policy and procedures.
Must be willing to work overtime when requested
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a high school diploma or GED, ASE certification a plus
Possess at least three (3) years of auto body shop experience
Possess a valid NJ License with the ability to obtain a CDL License with passenger endorsement OR possess a valid NY/PA CDL with passenger endorsement
Be able to pass the pre-employment physical and background checks
Have a good driving record with less than five (5) points
Normal working hours are 7:30 am-4:00 pm Monday to Friday (possible overtime)

Manifesting, packaging, spill clean-up response and remedial activities, labeling, loading, offloading, and coordinating transportation.
Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
Comply and enforce all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with all U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and VES-TS regulations required in submitting paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.
Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Program Summary:
* As a highly motivated undergraduate student, you will participate in a 10 to 12 week summer internship program at one of BASF's North American sites
* Your ability to be mobile will be critical, as US locations include, but are not limited to: Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana.
* Successfully engaging across the business, you will be exposed to the leadership, technical, and scientific aspects of plant engineering, while also working in areas of safety and environment to uphold our high standards
* Utilizing your experience in your area of study, you will help complete various Engineering projects which will provide the opportunity to further develop both technical and professional skills
* Upon completion of the internship program, you will have the opportunity to present your summer project to other interns, BASF employees, and senior leaders.

Requirements:
* Undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Environmental Engineering
* College Sophomores and Juniors (April 2026 - July 2027 grads)
* Demonstrated academic achievement (Minimum GPA 3.2)
* Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
* Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. during and upon place off from the program. Assignments are in-person/hybrid and can be in a different site such as Geismar, LA; Freeport, TX and Wyandotte, MI.
* Demonstrated previous leadership experience & academic achievement
* Active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Outstanding work ethic and leadership potential
* Bilingual skills are a plus

Pay Transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $1,907 - $2,340 semi monthly. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
