About the Job Responsible for the appearance/cleanliness of the Washington Hospital Center. Cleans public office staff and patient areas. This position is a full time non-exempt position. This position is primarily responsible for physically performing the necessary mold remediation, setting up containment, performing demolition as needed, delivering, staging, setting-up and monitoring remediation equipment, taking-down and decontaminating drying equipment, and overseeing demolition/cleaning crews of up to 10 people. May be required to meet with Environmentalist assigned to project that is providing clearance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Respond to emergency remediation needs. * Perform remediation services based on direction from the job supervisor. * Oversee crews that are performing remediation demolition and cleaning. * Competently setup and take down containment barriers and understand air pressurization. * Crime, trauma and biohazard clean-up and perform remediation services. * Tracking of subcontractor labor hours. * Interpret job scopes to determine the remediation services needed. * Ensure that crew members wearing proper PPE, donning and doffing at designated location within the decontamination chamber, and following proper safety measures during demolition and cleaning. * Has an understanding of how OSHA guidelines affect projects. * Perform commercial mitigation (deliver, stage, set-up and monitor drying equipment, take-down and decontaminate drying equipment). * Bi-lingual capabilities are preferred, but not required. General Summary of Position Under supervision maintains prescribed standards of cleanliness for assigned areas using germicidal solutions and following prescribed procedures and posted work schedules. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Technical/Environmental Duties: Cleans all assigned areas in accordance with standards of cleanliness and highest quality of cleaning excellence. Consistently gathers all trash. Polishes assigned floor surface areas by operating electric washing scrubbing stripping waxing and polishing equipment making manual adjustments to attain optimal results. Performs other duties as required such as cleaning light fixtures wall vents and moving furniture. Maintains cleaning equipment. Deposits refuse in specified collection areas and/or incinerator. Makes timely rounds and always follows universal precautions. Performs high dusting and low dusting of assigned areas. Uses 7 step cleaning process for all patient areas. This includes vacuuming washing sweeping mopping of restrooms beds furniture and open areas. Cleans specialized areas such as isolation and surgical areas to highest standards according to sterilization procedures.
