Environmental Monitoring (EM) Technician Type: Contract (12+ months) Shifts Available: Night shift (12-hour shifts, 8-hour shift during training) We are seeking an Environmental Monitoring Technician to support aseptic manufacturing operations at a GMP-regulated facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in biology, microbiology, or life sciences, and is well-suited for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Perform environmental monitoring of classified cleanroom areas, including isolator and facility monitoring (viable and non-viable). Conduct utility sampling and analysis (including WFI, PCA, and clean steam). Adhere to all cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, and safety protocols while supporting parenteral operations. Document and maintain detailed records of EM and utility sampling results. Support lab maintenance and inventory management tasks as needed. Assist in training and mentoring of new QC Microbiology/EM Technicians when needed. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the department. Author or assist in updating SOPs and work instructions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related life sciences field. Associate degree or High School Diploma accepted with relevant hands-on experience. Open to recent graduates with strong academic lab experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous environmental monitoring experience in a GMP-regulated or aseptic pharmaceutical setting. Familiarity with EM techniques: viable surface and air monitoring, non-viable particle counting, compressed air testing, water/steam sampling. Ability to gown into a cleanroom environment and follow sterile techniques. Understanding of regulatory compliance in cGMP facilities. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Comfortable working in a team environment with cross-functional coordination. Shift & Physical Requirements This opening is specifically for night shift coverage. Flexibility for 8-hour and 12-hour shifts; occasional overtime and weekend work may be required. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Will be required to wear PPE, including full cleanroom gowning and respiratory protection when applicable.

Hardware Deployment (Racking & Stacking) Install, rack, and secure servers, network devices, and storage systems according to company standards. Perform equipment unboxing, inventory verification, and physical labeling. Ensure proper weight distribution, rack cleanliness, and safe handling practices. Structured Cabling & Connectivity Install, route, and dress copper and fiber cabling within racks, overhead cable trays, and underfloor pathways. Terminate and test network and power cables using approved tools and methods. Maintain cable documentation, labeling, and port mapping for accuracy and traceability. Power & Cooling Coordination Connect equipment to PDUs following power budgets and redundancy requirements. Verify airflow management best practices (blanking panels, cable management, containment pathways). Work with facilities engineers to ensure equipment placement aligns with cooling capacity. Data Center Operations Support Perform regular floor walks to check rack conditions, cabling integrity, and power distribution. Assist with inventory management, spare parts tracking, and stock organization. Support troubleshooting of physical layer issues (loose connections, failed cables, mispatches). Safety, Compliance & Documentation Follow established safety practices including proper lifting and LOTO where applicable. Maintain accurate logs of hardware installations, cable changes, and rack power allocations. Ensure adherence to site standards for cabling, labeling, and physical security. Complete daily work completed checklists. Conduct hazardous waste operations and clean-up as required. Assist with daytime industrial services and emergency response projects, including tank cleanings, water blasting, facility decontaminations and cleanings on an as needed basis. Prepare daily diaries, reports, field sketches, post-incident closure reports of all project activity to ensure records are accurate and complete.
