Provides support and oversees compliance at material (concrete, aggregate operations) in assigned region
Provides staff support in developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental plans and procedures for assuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations by company facilities and operations

Communicates accurately and knowledgeably with various governmental agencies regarding regulatory programs, permits, and compliance matters
Prepares and submits applications and updates environmental permits and agency authorizations for all operations, e.g., air pollution control permits, stormwater discharges authorizations, mining and use permits, reclamation plans, Corps 404 permits, NPDES, and other water quality permits, etc.
Provides input and analysis on new or proposed operational activities, operational locations, and regulatory plans and programs

The Household Hazardous Waste Technicians work in a team environment and independently using judgment, and initiative in operation of the Permanent Household Hazardous Collection Facility (PHHWCF). As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $28- $32 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.

Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to work in area surrounding Concord, CA and Sacramento, CA. The Environmental Technician will assist in the environmental compliance for an oil and gas client. Typical activities will include surface and groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, soil remediation oversight, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, permit compliance, and subcontractor oversight. The ideal candidate will have environmental site monitoring experience and an aptitude for mechanical and electrical problem solving, and strong ability to communicate effectively with project teams both verbally and through written field work documentation.
Candidates local to Concord, CA and Fort Sacramento, CA area necessary as this position will require field work and occasionally reporting to field offices for meetings and picking up equipment and materials. Relocation support will be considered.
This Environmental Technician position will sit within the larger Global Resilience Business Area. Role accountabilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling
* Implementation of various field activities including permit compliance sampling and activities, monitoring well development and repair, waste management, etc.
* Remediation system operation, maintenance, and monitoring
* Site Inspections
* Permit compliance
* Oversight of subcontractors to perform selected operations
* Coordination of groundwater monitoring, and operation and maintenance events requiring multiple field technicians
Qualified candidates will have five or more years of experience working as an environmental field technician or in a similar role. They should demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and complete scopes of work with limited supervision, as well as possess familiarity with environmental standards, remedial systems, and related practices. Ability to learn mechanical and electrical control systems and infrastructure is required, along with the capability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., hold a valid driver's license, and demonstrate the ability to work independently or lead small teams. Additionally, candidates should either reside in or be willing to relocate to the Concord, CA or Sacramento, CA area; relocation support will be considered.
