Responsibilities: * Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces. * Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary. * Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. * Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area * Promotes safety in the workplace. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team on remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and Public sector. Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for a higher grade level than what is proposed for this advertisement. Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following regarding sediment remediation projects: - Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems. Experience with CapSim is preferred. - Experience using CAD to develop drawings for contaminated sediment dredging and/or soil excavation projects, including an ability to follow direction from a senior engineer with minimal continual oversight - Experience performing slope stability modeling. - Experience with the development of field sampling programs and subsequent data analyses to support the development of conceptual site models, mass balances, and data-based understanding of fate and transport processes. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV's, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc. * Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. * Observes all isolation procedures and Infect Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens. * Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount of supplies. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens. * Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer. * Hangs cubicles/drapes according to department policy. * Special project assignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing, etc.), and post informational signs. * Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt. * Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles when needed. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt. Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area. * Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identify various bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPIC and removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager call from supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems to supervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available. * Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and places in proper containers/areas. * Adheres to all applicable regulations and standards. * Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of all waste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOT Certification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste. Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt. Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous cleaning experience helpful. Special Physical Demands The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception.
