As an Environmental Field Technician for Tetra Tech SWE, you will be responsible for collecting environmental samples, completing operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for environmental remediation systems, recording field measurements and data at landfills and industrial facilities, sampling and inspecting landfill gas and liquids collection and control systems, conducting specialized testing, and performing maintenance activities at our Client's facilities. The majority of these facilities are located in New York and New Jersey. Required Qualifications: * Minimum High School Diploma and 1 year of general working experience. * Preferred A.S. or B.S Degree in environmental science or other natural science (geology, biology, ecology, etc.). * OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred with current eight-hour OSHA HAZWOPER refresher preferred. * Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude required * Ability to learn and work with complex field monitoring equipment including but not limited to flame-ionization detectors (FIDs), photo-ionization detectors (PIDs), explosive gas detectors, water level detectors PH/temperature/conductivity meters, and other typical environmental monitoring equipment. * Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions * Ability to learn general groundwater, soil gas, soil, and air sampling techniques including applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements. * Ability to be familiar with operations and maintenance techniques for landfill gas and landfill fluids collection systems. * Ability to build and retain mutual relationships with clients. * Some heavy equipment operation, HDPE pipe fusion experience a plus. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Execution of field work encompassed in remediation and industrial maintenance projects while under direct or indirect supervision.
Correct completion of all job-specific, employee-related MER paper work including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver's Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms.
Understand and work within project's detailed scope-of-work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures.
Work safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field.
Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions; involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods.
Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards / labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans.
The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed.
Project work may require out of town travel for two weeks or more
Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards.
Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project.
Work outside year round in all types of weather.
May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc.
May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more.
Must be clean shaven at all times to allow immediate donning and seal of respirator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills).
Experience in emergency response, manual labor, general construction and/or industrial cleaning is preferred.
A valid Class “D” Driver's License is required.
TWIC preferred.
OSHA 40-HR HAZWOPER & Confined Space Entry certifications are desired but not required.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.

Position: Environmental Services Technician - Full-Time
General Description:
The Environmental Services Technician .is responsible for the upkeep and appearance of all sites as assigned. In addition to landscaping and snow removal, will assist in general housekeeping at all sites and room turnovers as assigned. This position will also be responsible for routine service to HRH owned vehicles and equipment. May be required to shadow maintenance staff to perform basic repairs.
Principal Duties:
Provide detailed landscaping for all buildings and grounds. Participate in various landscaping tasks as assigned. These tasks may include but are not limited to: Cutting of grass, weed whacking, pruning of shrubs, hedge trimming, raking, planting, seasonal clean up, etc… Duties must be performed on an aggressive schedule to complete all HRH owned properties as needed during peak months.
Adhere to all safety requirements related to assigned tasks. Wear protective safety equipment as necessary or as required.
Maintain order in the storage and work areas. All equipment must be returned at the end of the day to its proper location.
Assist in housekeeping and room or apartment turnovers as assigned. This may include: removing any belongings left by previous tenants, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning of carpets, cleaning all appliances and any other duties necessary to prepare the unit for occupancy.
Perform regular inspections of all equipment to be used by the Environmental Services Department.
Daily removal of outdoor trash on all HRH properties. This will include trash, cigarette butts and other items disposed of properly.
Inventory of all landscaping and housekeeping supplies and related equipment. All supplies needing to be reordered must be reported in writing to the Environmental Services Manager.
Provide “On-Call” and emergency assistance as needed. This will include inclement weather situations for snow, ice, flooding, etc. This work will likely be performed during the early morning hours, evening hours and may include working on the weekends.
Other duties as required or assigned by HRH Management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Education/Experience: Must have the ability to read and write in order to communicate assignments and to understand directions on chemicals and equipment. Experience in landscaping, housekeeping and general maintenance repair is necessary.
Required Behaviors: Ability to work independently but also able function as part of a team. Must have a good attention to detail, able to follow directions and have a sense of pride in completed work. It is necessary to maintain an openness to a rotating assignment in the daily work schedule. Must also have a high energy level, able to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift at least 70 pounds, go up and down stairs while carrying things, work in extreme temperatures outdoors and able to climb a ladder.
License Requirements: Must have a valid NYS driver's license and ability to report to any assigned worksite at the beginning of a shift.
