Your Role :
* Perform environmental compliance and stormwater inspections.
* Coordinate and perform soil, water, and non-hazardous and hazardous waste sampling.
* Organize sampling and inspection documentation.

The pay range for this position is $29-33/hour.

Job Qualifications
The successful candidates will be required to speak, read, and write English. Previous asbestos consulting experience is not required but recommended. OSHA Hazwoper certificate, lead assessor registration, NIOSH 582, and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator are pluses. The ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment is required.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:
a) Grade Point Average 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum.
2. GS-9: You must have completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree:
a) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours are non-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc. you cannot qualify based on GPA.

1. Professional knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to carry out tasks and provide support using established procedures and methods in assigned.
2. Knowledge to perform a variety of technical tasks in support of projects assigned to higher level scientists or engineers using established technology to investigate unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned.
3. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to use in applying to assigned tasks in the areas of restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices.
4. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.

HYDROLOGIST I/II
Environmental technician job in Las Vegas, NV
The Regional Flood Control District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Hydrologist I/II position. Under general supervision, this field-based role is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the District's Flood Threat Recognition System field equipment and base stations. The position requires a working knowledge of meteorological principles to interpret atmospheric data, monitor precipitation trends, and assess weather patterns that contribute to flood risk. Hydrologists in this role collaborate with the National Weather Service to relay timely flood forecasts and observed flooding to local entities and first responders, and evaluate storm impacts-including rainfall intensity, storm cell movement, and convective activity-for potential inclusion in flood event reports. This position will also be required to operate in the field independently to service and maintain radiotelemetry equipment used to monitor rainfall, water level and other meteorological parameters.
Hydrologist I: $32.77- $48.43 Hourly
Hydrologist II:$35.38 - $52.32 Hourly
The Hydrologist I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Hydrologist II. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team on remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and Public sector. Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following regarding sediment remediation projects:
- Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems. Experience with CapSim is preferred.

Environmental technician job in Las Vegas, NV
Job Title: Environmental Test Technician We are seeking an Environmental Test Technician to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. Entry-level position with opportunity for advancement to Test Engineer I role ($26.00/Hour) within 6-to-12 months. Candidates must be comfortable with regional travel and working outdoors. Company vehicle provided for travel. All travel time, expenses, lodging + $72 per diem are paid for by company.
Responsibilities
+ Perform air emissions testing and monitoring services at a variety of client industrial facilities.
+ Transport and set up testing equipment using a company vehicle; dismantle equipment post-testing.
+ Record and analyze data, collect samples.
+ Calibrate testing equipment and assist engineers in conducting air quality testing procedures.
+ Adhere to environmental, health, and safety protocols.
+ Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming assignments.
+ Maintain and clean testing equipment.
+ Gain proficiency in EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.
Qualifications:
+ B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field is preferred.
+ Previous experience in field testing, sampling, engineering, construction, industrial or other relevant hands-on position.
+ Team player with strong initiative and communication skills.
+ Able to travel during the standard work week
+ Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Additional Information:
+ Career Path: Test Technician - Test Engineer I/II - AET Team Lead - Project Manager - Sr. Project Manager.
+ Expected travel is 70% over the course of the year. Majority of client sites are located in the southwest region and drivable.
+ Typical projects require 2-to-5 days of travel during the standard work week, Monday-Friday.
+ Frequent overtime required when traveling, paid at 1.5x rate.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
