The Regional Flood Control District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Hydrologist I/II position. Under general supervision, this field-based role is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the District's Flood Threat Recognition System field equipment and base stations. The position requires a working knowledge of meteorological principles to interpret atmospheric data, monitor precipitation trends, and assess weather patterns that contribute to flood risk. Hydrologists in this role collaborate with the National Weather Service to relay timely flood forecasts and observed flooding to local entities and first responders, and evaluate storm impacts-including rainfall intensity, storm cell movement, and convective activity-for potential inclusion in flood event reports.
