These activities include wildfire management, recreation, mining, grazing, timber harvesting, road and infrastructure maintenance and capital projects. This role requires exemplary partnership, relationship building and collaboration with the Hetch Hetchy Water and Power and Water Quality Divisions of the SFPUC Water Enterprise, the federal landowners within the watershed including the USFS, the NPS and the BLM, and other federal, state and local agencies. This role also requires an understanding of the Surface Water Treatment Rule and activities needed to maintain the filtration avoidance status for the Hetch Hetchy and Upcountry Non-Hetch Hetchy drinking water supplies. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Build relationships and coordinate with HHWP, WQ, the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and the National Park Service (NPS) to support watershed protection measures, including those listed below, within the Cherry Lake, Eleanor Lake and Hetch Hetchy watersheds. * Collaborate with federal partners, local governments, and non-governmental organizations for watershed protection and wildfire mitigation efforts. On an annual basis, the Pretreatment Program inspects approximately 350 businesses, collects more than 1,900 water quality samples, and reviews more than 900 self-monitoring reports.
