Responsibilities include timber inventory, timber marking, timber sale preparation and administration, the development of stand-level silvicultural prescriptions, contracting of forestry-related services, and other consulting activities.
Candidate will occasionally participate in consulting/field projects across the U. S. Southeast. Travel outside of the local area will be required approximately 20% of the time. All necessary travel costs will be reimbursed.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:
a) Grade Point Average 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum.
2. GS-9: You must have completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree:
a) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours are non-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc. you cannot qualify based on GPA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to carry out tasks and provide support using established procedures and methods in assigned.
2. Knowledge to perform a variety of technical tasks in support of projects assigned to higher level scientists or engineers using established technology to investigate unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned.
3. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to use in applying to assigned tasks in the areas of restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices.
4. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.

You will report to Southern Company's Logan Martin Dam office in Vincent, Alabama, for weekly scheduled projects and locations. Extensive travel is required. Responsibilities

Receive shipment of autosamplers for transport to assigned sites.
Perform initial site visits in support of autosampler installation at the influent end of designated wastewater treatment (WWTP) sites or at schools.
Participate in coordination and planning meetings on a regular basis as necessary.
Participate in training associated with work duties on the project.
Coordinate work as a member of a 2-person sampling crew if needed.
Wastewater sample collection for SARS-CoV-2 or other pathogens as directed, 2 days per week between Monday and Thursday each week.
Collect 24-hour composite samples utilizing provided autosamplers and associated equipment.
Responsible for daily drop off samples at FedEx for shipping.
Field reporting and data entry required.
Able to ride in vehicle for 4 or more hours a day.

Duties/Responsibilities:
The Graphical Content Meteorologist supports the development, configuration, and deployment of graphical weather content across client systems and platforms. This role works cross-functionally across internal teams to ensure graphic templates are technically sound, accurate, and operationally ready for use. Key responsibilities include:
Build and maintain libraries of graphical content by following established procedures, templates, and design standards
Assemble, update, and export client graphics as needed using existing or new templates, including find/replace workflows and custom builds when needed
Support Content Development Manager with the upgrade and installation process by assisting with mock-up generation for initial project kick-off calls, and fielding/managing change requests from initiation through final delivery.
Identify unique data setups/situations which have potential for advanced automation, and escalate/communicate these needs to the Content Development Manager for proper investigation and assignment
Coordinate with installers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of graphical assets ahead of installations
Maintain clear and active communication with installers throughout the installation process to ensure needs and requests are fielded and shared
Update and test default system builds on computer systems ahead of installation, ensuring all recently added default graphics are situated prior to installer arrival
Respond to miscellaneous station requests, including minor frame adjustments, font updates, and other small graphic changes
Assist in coordinating graphics releases such as phenomena explainers and other special content
Conceptualize, pitch, design, and develop graphical packages to help our customers tell an engaging story
Occasionally prepare informational presentations on data products/offerings for Webinars or Conferences, and present internal weather briefings to Baron staff
Adapt to a 24/7/365 operational environment - occasional schedule flexibility (including evenings, weekends, or emergencies) may be required
