The Ruggedized Fiber Optic (RFO) Manufacturing Development has the following charter. To supply the quick turn capabilities needed for prototypes and customer samples. To supply tooling designs in support of new products and processes to meet customer ramp up schedules. In summary, to create cost effective solutions for first NPI product builds and prepare those products for transfer to production. The openings are for (3) experienced (preferred but not required) fiber optic technicians. These Team Members will be key members of simultaneous engineering teams and will be responsible for optical connector assembly, termination of various configurations of fiber optic cable assemblies, and testing of these cable assemblies. These positions will also assist in process development and resolution of problems encountered in the process of bringing new optical products from concept to market. Other duties will include operation of fiber router & completion of over-molding process. These positions will also provide suggestions for the simplification of new products to reduce costs and increase overall manufacturing efficiency. The individuals must also be able to work as a team member with remote sites and outside vendors. The individuals are to be self-starters and have the ability to work well under schedule pressures and be able to balance workload as priorities change. Maintain detailed and accurate records. + Segregate and package material for transport. + Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, practices and procedures. + Operate fork trucks and other mobile equipment to move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers. + Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures. + Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management. **Basic Qualifications:** + Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment + Basic computer skills to complete web-based training + Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English + Ability to predictably and regularly attend work during scheduled hours. Must be willing and able to occasionally work nights, weekends and variable schedule(s) as necessary. + Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers **Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:** + Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds throughout the workday + Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods + Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts + Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms + Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions + Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard had, steel toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
