Environmental technician job in Temecula, CA
The Archaeologist works to protect the Tribe's cultural and archaeological resources from potential and actual impacts to their integrity, on and off the reservation. Under the direction and supervision of the Director and senior staff, the Archaeologist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing cultural resource issues of concern to the Tribe. The Archaeologist takes measures to protect the resources in accordance with the Tribe's policies, practices and customs by utilizing applicable laws and working with governmental agencies, environmental consultants, archaeologists, project applicants and legal counsel. The Archaeologist provides electronic tracking of departmental projects using known cultural site knowledge, archaeological studies, and parcel data information provided by Federal, State, and Local Lead Agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Native American Studies, or History required. Master's degree preferred.
Listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologist as a Registered Archaeologist (RA) or a Professional Archaeologist (RPA) required
Minimum of three (3) years working for a Tribal Cultural Resources Department or Program required.
Must have knowledge and experience with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Protection Plan (NEPA), Section 106 (National Historical Preservation Act), California SB (Senate Bill) 18, and California SB (Senate Bill) 52, Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA), and other state and federal laws related to cultural resources protection.
Must have experience reading maps, including 3.5-minute topographic maps and Google Earth / ArcGIS.
Experience providing standard writing samples in related field.
Experience and working knowledge of planning related software and GIS applications.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management)

Wildlife Biologist On-Call Southern California

The On-Call Biologist will be responsible for a range of environmental consulting services, including construction monitoring, avian species identification and nest surveys, general and focused biological field surveys and support, assisting with writing and reviewing technical reports and supporting documents such as Biological Technical Reports, Biological Assessments, technical memos, and providing as-needed field and office support to our local and regional Natural Resource team members.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute field assignments for southern California-based work, with occasional travel to counties including, but not limited to, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties. Conduct general and species specific biological surveys and monitoring pursuant to the relevant regulations, codes and/or industry standards. Document field findings in monitoring logs, reports, memos or email communications, as appropriate. Communicate with client field contacts and ICF senior biologists. The on-call biologist must be able to travel to remote field sites in other counties, including but not limited to San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. APTIM has openings for a Environmental Technician to work in a team to perform solid waste composition assessments of client waste containers ranging in size from 3 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. These assessments are typically 1-2 days in duration with typical team sizes ranging from 2 to 5 depending on the size of the assessment.
Work activities will include sorting through solid waste using hand tools to segregate waste items by type for the purpose of assessing various types of waste including plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, food waste and regulated materials. Assisting with the separation of the waste, weighing and inventorying items for the purpose of data analysis and reporting.
Work requires the ability to bend and lift 30 pounds or less, willingness to work in Tyvek safety suits, wear required safety equipment, and ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
* Sort solid waste into material categories including plastics, paper, cardboard, food waste, regulated waste, etc.
* Use hand tools to sort waste and ability to lift and move items 30 pounds or less.
* Willingness to travel with the team to transfer stations, landfills, and client sites. Travel could be required anywhere in the continental US but primary focus would be in the Midwest.

Role accountabilities:
Routinely interact/communicate with Arcadis' project managers, and leaders; abatement contractors; consultants; and client personnel to ensure on time and satisfactory performance on projects.

These assessments are typically 1-2 days in duration with typical team sizes ranging from 2 to 5 depending on the size of the assessment.
Work activities will include sorting through solid waste using hand tools to segregate waste items by type for the purpose of assessing various types of waste including plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, food waste and regulated materials. Assisting with the separation of the waste, weighing and inventorying items for the purpose of data analysis and reporting.
Work requires the ability to bend and lift 30 pounds or less, willingness to work in Tyvek safety suits, wear required safety equipment, and ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Sort solid waste into material categories including plastics, paper, cardboard, food waste, regulated waste, etc.
