The On-Call Biologist will be responsible for a range of environmental consulting services, including construction monitoring, avian species identification and nest surveys, general and focused biological field surveys and support, assisting with writing and reviewing technical reports and supporting documents such as Biological Technical Reports, Biological Assessments, technical memos, and providing as-needed field and office support to our local and regional Natural Resource team members. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute field assignments for southern and central California-based work. Ability to be extremely detail oriented and meet a high level of quality control regarding highly regulated USAP hazardous wastes. Ability to learn and follow all ACA, EPA, NRC, IMDG, DOT, State, rules and regulations regarding hazardous wastes being shipped. Ability to complete all documentation and tracking to a high degree of accuracy. Perform certain classification qualitative testing on items (pH testing, flash point testing, etc.) Perform safe operation of an articulating forklift. Quality checks all shipping containers and correct discrepancies immediately. Assist the Solid Waste Department as needed. Ability to supply manual labor (shoveling) for several hours if needed.
