The Environmental Test Technician plays a critical role in supporting qualification and acceptance testing of components and systems for aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability industries. This position is responsible for the setup, execution, monitoring, and documentation of environmental tests in accordance with established procedures, customer requirements, and applicable military and aerospace standards. Salary: $25- 30/hr DOE
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Set up and execute environmental tests in accordance with approved test procedures and work instructions
Operate and program environmental thermal chamber controllers to achieve specified test profiles
Configure and operate data acquisition systems to capture accurate and reliable test data
Monitor tests in progress, maintaining detailed test log sheets and recording data as required
nsure test activities comply with applicable military, aerospace, and customer compliance standards
Identify, document, and communicate test anomalies or issues to engineering and management
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized test environment
Support continuous improvement efforts by sharing technical knowledge and best practices with team members
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and business needs

Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience performing environmental testing preferred
Strong understanding of military and aerospace compliance standards

Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute field assignments for southern and central California-based work. Document field findings in monitoring logs, reports, memos and email communications, as appropriate. Communicate with client field contacts and ICF project managers and senior biologists. Job Summary

Duties
Help
* Performs continuing work assignments involving environmental physical science. Participates in and provides support to a variety of complex projects carried out by higher level staff; and carries out smaller projects involving moderate levels of complexity and consequences.
* Responsible for carrying out assigned, well defined, moderate-sized projects or assigned portions of more complex projects, (in-house and by contract), to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies.
* Coordinates curricula and training for assigned program areas at the installation. Support quality improvement and promotes the environmental awareness program.
* Provides advisory services on problems and issues relating to well defined, moderate-sized projects in assigned program areas.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:
a) Grade Point Average 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum.
2. GS-9: You must have completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree:
a) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours are non-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc. you cannot qualify based on GPA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to carry out tasks and provide support using established procedures and methods in assigned.
2. Knowledge to perform a variety of technical tasks in support of projects assigned to higher level scientists or engineers using established technology to investigate unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned.
3. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to use in applying to assigned tasks in the areas of restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices.
4. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Job Summary
Our environmental field technicians / consultants (Level 1) provide clients with advice regarding potential contaminant presence in a variety of settings including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. An ideal candidate should be an individual who is self-motivated, this “hands-on” position requires strong analytical and communication skills to identify a potential issue and convey the said issue to a client with remedial solutions when necessary. Through on-the-job training and certification courses, field technicians gain knowledge regarding state and federal regulations and in turn conduct surveys and produce reports as a knowledgeable party.
Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct on-site inspections, which includes documentation of site conditions, sampling, and in-person consultation
Produce professional survey reports based on inspection notes and sample data with remedial recommendations as necessary
Coordinate with multiple parties regarding inspections while keeping all parties best interests in mind
Adhere to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations and communicate that information to clients in a professional manner
Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma is required.
Prefer individuals with a bachelor's of science degree in construction management, biology, chemistry, environmental science, and/or a related science.
Valid Driver's License
