This includes augmenting the National Weather Service (NWS) ASOS equipment with hourly weather observations, providing daily weather briefings and products to all required customers, and ensuring the products are disseminated through all required distribution channels. The Meteorologist will attend planning and operational project meetings as well as weather briefings leading up to and during launch countdowns. This position will also be responsible for producing historical weather data (climatology) to customers upon request. In addition, the meteorologist is also responsible for providing tropical weather updates according to the Wallops Hurricane/Nor'easter plan, snowfall products according to the Wallops Snow Plan, and ensure that these briefings are distributed to key Wallops personnel. The Meteorologist will provide tailored forecast support during Expendable Launch Vehicle launches, while ensuring that all Lightning Launch Commit Criteria are followed. The Meteorologist will also be expected to attend training sessions and weather symposiums to gain the latest information on instrumentation and research. Required Education, Experience, & Skills: * Bachelor's degree in meteorology or atmospheric science, or a closely related field. * 2 - 4 years of related experience. Liaise with Site Management team to ensure that all planned maintenance activities are communicated effectively including diagnosing equipment malfunctions and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance. Provide all required job updates on a timely basis. Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs. Maintain all assets for which you have responsibility to the highest standards. Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned. Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores. Maintain clean and safe conditions in machine and electrical rooms. Communicate as needed with retail store location personnel to maintain refrigerated product integrity. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with rack systems, displays cases and walk-ins highly preferred. Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience. EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently. Ability to understand and follow English instructions. In-depth working knowledge of supermarket rack refrigeration equipment, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems preferred.
