*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*

* Recent experience working with pediatric patients and/or phlebotomy in an acute care setting preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

Repairs and maintains cranes, and trackage, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Job Summary:

• An understanding of the operation of the air monitoring sites including; ambient air monitoring instruments, meteorological instruments, data acquisition, sample setup and retrieval and all other auxiliary equipment.
• Data verification for continuous and manual instruments. Review of data using: reports, graphs, charts or linear databases to identification of outliers, malfunctions or anomalies.
• Documentation and completion of: electronic field sheets, site logs, instrument logs, instrument change out sheets, chain of custody, vehicle logs, travel logs and sample shipping.
• Responds to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs or leads projects under direction of a unit lead or manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• Knowledge of and/or experience in gaseous and particulate instrumentation, Auto-GC, communication equipment, quality assurance and control, and data entry using relational databases; existing and new environmental monitoring techniques and equipment; methodologies and techniques for collecting environmental data including the design and function of environmental monitoring equipment and State and Federal environmental regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:
a) Grade Point Average 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum.
2. GS-9: You must have completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree:
a) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. Experience and knowledge of AC and DC power systems including wiring of both types.
Experience terminating and installing various sizes and types of coax cabling from 3/8” to 1”.
Capable of troubleshooting with Spectrum Analyzer and Cable/Antenna Analyzer.
Knowledge of basic RF theory and understanding simple signal flow concepts.
Knowledge of various industry best practices for cabling, safety, and rigging.
Valid OSHA 10 certification preferred.
Intermediate to advanced PC knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to competently climb all types of structures and towers up to 600 feet if required;
Majority of towers climbed are between 150-400 feet.
Ability to work overtime, evenings, and on call required. Occasional weekend work is required as needed or as part of on-call.
Ability to work outside or inside in hot and cold weather conditions for long periods of time.
Long haul driving of CMV (work truck), sometimes up to 14 hours in a work shift;
Required to be on feet/standing in one place 60% to 100% of the work shift.
Required to lift/carry equipment and tools as follows:
Over 150 lbs. - 1% of the time
75 - 150 lbs. - 5% of the time
25 to 75 lbs. - 50% of the time
1 to 25 lbs. - 90% of the time
Travel Requirements:
Travel is 90 -100%. Deploy from home.
(Sioux Falls) Operations are typically between Dubuque, IA and Miles City, MT.
(Spokane) Operations are typically between Everett, WA and Miles City MT.
Occasional travel outside of these areas will be required as needed.
Overnight stays will be required when traveling.
