Job Summary/Description:
13 News in Tucson, AZ, seeks an experienced meteorologist to join our award-winning First Alert Weather team. The meteorologist will work closely with the Chief Meteorologist, news managers, and producers to help execute our aggressive First Alert weather brand in daily newscasts, as well as during severe weather. We are searching for a dynamic, engaging meteorologist to join Tucson's most accurate weather team.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Analyze raw scientific data, models, and other available and relevant information to create an accurate weather forecast for our viewing area encompassing all of Southern Arizona
• Create a compelling, conversational presentation of the weather forecast for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media audiences
• Identify and communicate the "weather story of the day" to a cross-platform audience
• Accurately forecast and track severe weather, including monsoon and tornadic activity
• Clearly communicate the weather information to editorial staff for planning purposes (short- and long-range)
• Conceptualize and create weather graphics and analyze data from a number of meteorological sources in order to communicate engaging weather forecasts
• Ensure all weather content leads the market and meets KOLD standards for integrity and production value
• Be available to work both in the studio and in the field
• Take part in promotional activities and public appearances
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Operational radar experience and command of the TWC MAX system preferred
• BS/BA in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science/Communications/Journalism or equivalent background. Seals of the National Weather Association and/or American Meteorological Society are preferred, but not necessary.
• Superior communication skills and the ability to ad-lib
• Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts, especially considering the nature of weather events
• A clean driving record, ability to drive in various weather conditions, and a valid driver's license are requirements of this position

Previous experience installing piezometers and borehole testing.

Strong communication and team skills are required.

Requirements
Qualifications Required:
Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
Minimum two years laboratory experience in the identification of archaeological artifacts.
Knowledge of methods pertaining to the recovery, treatment, identification, and qualitative, quantitative, and statistical analysis of cultural materials.
Demonstrated knowledge of identification and analysis of Southwestern cultural materials.
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory curation standards and methodologies.
Prior archaeology fieldwork experience.
Completion of an archaeological field school.
Technical writing ability.
The ability to work well in a team environment, under the direction of a Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Manager.

What will I be doing?
Under direction of a field supervisor, conduct archaeological field work (field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations).
Under direction of field supervisor, record artifacts, features and other manifestations using Trimble GIS, map archaeological features and sites, draw scaled profiles and plans, and maintain paperwork, notes, and records.
Process and catalog artifacts and other materials under lab staff supervision.
Perform preliminary analysis and lab tasks under lab staff supervision.
File and scan records and paperwork.
Complete record searches and report tables under supervision of senior staff.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Associates Degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. Prior on-the-job archeology experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Previous experience in archaeology preferred.
Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours in a desert environment featuring extreme temperatures, rough terrain, and potential high altitudes.
Ability to carry up to 60 pounds of equipment and supplies.
Ability to bend and kneel for long periods of time.
Ability to travel out of town for work throughout the Southwest, often on short notice and for extended periods (paid drive time, per diem and hotel provided).

WestLand is seeking on-call Archaeology Field Technicians for our growing Arizona team. Our crews can be found working throughout the Southwest on CRM projects for private and public sector clients. For out-of-town work that includes overnight, or longer duration stays, per diem and single-occupancy hotel rooms are provided. The successful candidates can be based out of WestLand's Tucson office.
What will I be doing?
Under direction of a field supervisor, conduct archaeological field work (field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations).
Under direction of field supervisor, record artifacts, features and other manifestations using Trimble GIS, map archaeological features and sites, draw scaled profiles and plans, and maintain paperwork, notes, and records.
Process and catalog artifacts and other materials under lab staff supervision.
Perform preliminary analysis and lab tasks under lab staff supervision.
File and scan records and paperwork.
Complete record searches and report tables under supervision of senior staff.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Associates Degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. Prior on-the-job archeology experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Previous experience in archaeology preferred.
Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours in a desert environment featuring extreme temperatures, rough terrain, and potential high altitudes.
Ability to carry up to 60 pounds of equipment and supplies.
Ability to bend and kneel for long periods of time.
Ability to travel out of town for work throughout the Southwest, often on short notice and for extended periods (paid drive time, per diem and hotel provided).
Ability to work as a member of a cohesive team.
Ability to work in a fast paced and creative environment.
The salary range for this position is $19.00 - $24.50 per hour.

Under limited supervision plans, organizes, manages and evaluates designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.
* Supervises, enhances and monitors designated engineering practices for the site
* Reports environmental compliance issues and makes recommendations to appropriate site management for correction
* Supervises or reviews, investigates and develops appropriate recommendations regarding planned engineering projects.
* Supervises or may serve as Project Manager or technical expert, on large/complex site construction, expansion or modification engineering projects
* Provides guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations
* Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
* Contributes to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas
* Represents the site on company sponsored steering teams, such as Freeport-McMoRan Environmental Steering Team
* Performs other duties as required
