As an Environmental Field Technician for Tetra Tech SWE, you will be responsible for collecting environmental samples, completing operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for environmental remediation systems, recording field measurements and data at landfills and industrial facilities, sampling and inspecting landfill gas and liquids collection and control systems, conducting specialized testing, and performing maintenance activities at our Client's facilities. The majority of these facilities are located in New York and New Jersey. Required Qualifications: * Minimum High School Diploma and 1 year of general working experience. * Preferred A.S. or B.S Degree in environmental science or other natural science (geology, biology, ecology, etc.). * OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred with current eight-hour OSHA HAZWOPER refresher preferred. * Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude required * Ability to learn and work with complex field monitoring equipment including but not limited to flame-ionization detectors (FIDs), photo-ionization detectors (PIDs), explosive gas detectors, water level detectors PH/temperature/conductivity meters, and other typical environmental monitoring equipment. * Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions * Ability to learn general groundwater, soil gas, soil, and air sampling techniques including applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements. * Ability to be familiar with operations and maintenance techniques for landfill gas and landfill fluids collection systems. * Ability to build and retain mutual relationships with clients. * Some heavy equipment operation, HDPE pipe fusion experience a plus. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleans and services building areas; move furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments; and performs a variety of environmental services' duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. * Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tiles, fixtures, equipment and floors; vacuums, dusts and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings; sanitizes and disinfects bathroom areas. * Gathers and transports refuse from assigned areas to appropriate disposal location. * Reports needed repairs/alterations or situations requiring follow up attention to department supervisor as they occur. * Selects and prepares cleaning materials and supplies for transport to work area at the beginning of the shift. * Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements, as well as hospital mandatory requirements. * Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances. * Participates in all hospital established programs for improving hand hygiene compliance. * Fully participates with all hospital programs geared towards improving the patient experience. * Complies with all facility protocols established for reducing Hospital Acquired Infections and improving patient safety outcomes. BASIC FUNCTION: The Environmental Service (EVS) Technician I is responsible for providing a safe care environment for patients and staff within the Seneca Nation Health System (SNHS) achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection and quality assurance towards the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefits of patients, visitors, and staff. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Technician I will have contact with patients, employees, and visitors. The EVS Tech I, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and the patient experience. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager/Assistant Facilities Manager, the EVS Tech I will perform a variety of cleaning and service tasks. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide quality customer service excellence to employees, visitors, and patients. 2. Performs cleaning activities within a healthcare environment to ensure that infection control guidelines are met. This includes, but not limited to, dusting wall surfaces, floors, ledges, furniture, disinfecting wall surfaces, vents, floor ledges, restrooms including toilets and sinks. 3. Handle soiled linen, regular waste, and medical waste following all precautions required for personal safety and the safety of others. 4. Gathers and disposes of regular trash and regulated medical waste, washes waste containers, re-lines containers with paper or plastic bags. Restock restroom supplies. 5. Report any safety issues discovered promptly to supervisor. 6. Keep equipment clean, tidy, and in good working condition, and clean and restock equipment at end of shift. 7. Maintain work area safely and cleanly according to organizational standards. Take immediate action to correct any deficient area when notified by the supervisor. 9. Dusts, scrubs, wet and dry mops, waxes, using appropriate equipment and supplies, re-waxes floors of designated rooms following established techniques. 10. Cleans and sanitizes rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas, according to policies, procedures, and manufacturer recommendations, to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the health centers. 11. Cleans windows internally and externally on the organization's maintenance schedule. 12. Accountable for accurately maintaining all appropriate logs and check lists/sheets current for assigned area. 13. Moves furniture as required. 14. Works to promote cooperative staff efforts to provide and maintain high quality service to patients, providers, and other staff to assure quality patient care. 15.
