Full-Time Salary Range: $51941 - $83107

Assist senior chemists in defining analytical and quality assurance /quality control (QA/QC) requirements for projects performed under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and other hazardous waste or petroleum response programs
Coordinate subcontract or EPA laboratories and data validation providers
Compile, organize, process, and analyze environmental data using statistical and database tools
Assist with the collection and management of environmental samples during field investigations.
Contribute to the preparation of Uniform Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPPs); and
Support the development of technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret and communicate analytical results that inform project decisions and environmental strategies.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, a Chemistry-related discipline or equivalent
1-3 years of post-graduate experience working with analytical chemistry, field/lab analyses or coordination, and data processing
Must possess strong mathematical, analytical, and reasoning skills with a high level of attention to detail;
Must be attentive to detail and tolerant of repetition in the comprehensive review and organization of data;
Must be adept with Microsoft Office programs; rapid and precise data management skills using databases in MS Excel and/or MS Access is required;
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
Must be physically able to pass an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-mandated medical examination for work on hazardous waste sites;
Must be physically able and willing to perform field work associated with site investigations and site assessments; and
Must have a valid driver's license and be available with reasonable notice for field work on evenings or weekends as project requirements arise.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and performing data queries in MS Access and managing large relational databases;
Experience using graphical and statistical analysis software beyond standard MS Excel (JMP software and the Analysis ToolPak add-in to MS Excel are examples);
Prior experience with organic and/or inorganic data validation;
Advanced degrees in chemistry or related fields, along with additional related experience;
Familiarity with USEPA Region 2 EQuIS EDD format;
Knowledge of UFP-QAPP requirements and experience applying related protocols;
Current OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification and medical clearance for hazardous waste work; and
Prior experience conducting environmental site investigations at hazardous waste sites, particularly those involving contaminated sediments or groundwater.
