What is the Opportunity?
The New Nuclear Development group, provides engineering, procurement, construction and project management support at the early stages of new nuclear projects. The projects could be for small modular reactors (SMR) or for large scale nuclear. Project support could include estimating, technology assessments, constructability reviews, schedule development, contract development and other activities that are typically required by clients in the early stages of project development. The work could be Aecon only or in a Joint Venture partnership with other organizations. Our projects can be in Canada, the US or Internationally. Aecon's leadership role in these early stages is critical to ensure that either Aecon alone or as part of a JV is set up for success as we move into the execution phase. The NND projects would take the work into the Validation Phase and assist in establishing the execution organization. It is expected that the PD position will transition into the execution team that will be outside of the NND organization.
Purpose of the Position:
The Project Director reports to the VP, US Operations and shall be accountable for the below responsibilities:

Leading complex team with various disciplines from project controls, operations, finance, LR etc.

Knowledge and Skills:
BSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
20+ years of experience in planning and managing major capital projects, ideally large-scale Nuclear projects.
Understanding of Nuclear Safety Culture & INPO principles, must have experience in highly regulated construction environments, ideally the Nuclear Market.
Project management, contract management, and risk management necessary.
Must appreciate the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
Understanding of nuclear designs, systems, reactor generations, materials, and maintenance is desired.
Experience with construction strategy, means and methods, project management fundamentals and acumen are crucial.
Knowledge of key players and existing relationships within the nuclear sector.
High level of executive management exposure which will include having built, managed and sustained a high performing business to deliver profitable growth.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Biology, General Biology, or related discipline preferred with at least 2 years of field experience. Candidate must be a U.S Citizen, have a current driver's license, be able to pass a background security investigation, and have an original copy of their birth certificate. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday in 8 hour shifts. Schedule will be determined by work activities and may exceed 8 hours in one day. Occasional weekend or holiday work may occur.
Ability and willingness to work in challenging field conditions, including, but not limited to dense vegetation, long days and hot, humid weather. Candidate should be in good physical condition and be able to lift and carry 50lbs and perform physical tasks, such as walking for extending periods of time while carrying 20lbs.

Experience with Red-cockaded Woodpecker monitoring and management including artificial cavity installation.
Experience using a spotting scope and binoculars to identify birds.

The EnvironmentalTechnician will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Remediation Services. This will include engaging in in\-situ remediation activities such as implementing scopes of work and remedial designs presented to TWS by consultants and\/or vendors. Field management and oversight responsibilities may include management of all lower\-tier subcontractors, management of health and safety plans, taking part in client discussions, pre\-project preparations, field support, and troubleshooting as needed. As projects may dictate, the EnvironmentalTechnician will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mixing and injection equipment. Working with clients in the field to ensure their project needs and challenges are being met and exceeded and provide them with a resource for technical support.
The EnvironmentalTechnician will work closely with the Director of Remediation Services to monitor project expenditures to ensure projects remain within budget. The EnvironmentalTechnician will be expected to establish relationships with clients and be a go\-to resource for technical support leading up to and throughout projects. The EnvironmentalTechnician will be expected to be a seller\/doer in that his technical capabilities will be effectively utilized to introduce and enhance TWS Environmental's technical capabilities to its clients.
When and if available to lend assistance, the EnvironmentalTechnician will be expected to support TWS Environmental's other core service lines to include but not limited to stand\-alone support services as an additional resource for field support as may be needed.
Overview of Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Implementation of remedial designs and scopes of work in a safe and efficient manner
Liaise with Director of Remediation Services to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
Evaluate regularly the efficiency of operational procedures and apply improvements
Work with the Director of Remediation Services to help manage procurement processes for the Remediation Services Program\/Division and coordinate materials and resources allocation
Oversee client support processes and organize them to enhance client satisfaction
Implementation of policies for the Remediation Services Program\/Division
Build relationships with external clients
Gather project data and provide to Director of Remediation Services while assisting with evaluation of overall performance and assisting with analyzing and interpretation of such data
Ensure that the company's standards for quality, equipment, and performance are maintained on remediation projects as well as when assisting with TWS's other service lines referenced above
Ensure fixed assets are preserved and initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to existing property
Alert Director of Remediation Services of cost and labor over runs on projects. Assist with making recommendations and implementation solutions to problems related to the same
Supervise onsite lower\-tier subcontractors on site and provide constructive feedback
Promote and be a champion for industry best health and safety practices
Manage applicable budgets and control expenses effectively
Assist with training and developing new TWS staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.

The candidate must be proficient with various surveying equipment; GPS units; water quality monitoring instruments such as YSI multiprobes, ISCO automated samplers; mobile data collection systems; and cellular phones. What Will I be Doing:
This position requires strong team and leadership skills to be proficient in performing field activities of surveying, collecting, and analyzing datasets to assess/determine conditions of unrestored/restored streams. Candidate will also use GIS to analyze and assess datasets collected for the Stream Walk Program. This position will draft reports and present data results, trends, etc to WQ and City of Charlotte staff periodically.
The position will also respond to resident's request for service related to water pollution, investigate potential sources, enforce regulations, and ensure compliance with applicable local ordinances. What You'll Do:
Starting pay for this position - $15.95 per hour
The Recreation Attendant-Naturalist will perform tasks generally related to Summer Nature Camp. They will assist Naturalists at the Environmental Center with nature activities and classes, assist with supervision of campers, help design and implement outdoor-based nature study, and perform various day to day assigned tasks to support and operate PEC's Summer Nature Camp.
Work is performed under regular supervision of the Parks Supervisor. Work schedule may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Assists PEC staff as needed; Assists with summer nature camps and other programs as needed;
* Helps school-age children become familiar with nature through different activities;
* Escorts children to daily activity sites when needed;
* Cleans facility areas and assists in maintaining outdoor areas;
* Maintains daily communication with supervisor;
* Prepares lists of materials and equipment needed for activities and makes requests for same;
* Enforces center policies and safety rules and regulations;
* Plans nature activities related to environmental concepts and practice with the center's Naturalists;

* Makes preparation of area for participants' lunches and snacks;
* Greets parents and children daily upon arrival and ensures authorized party gets children at departure time;

Develop a high-level of state and federal regulatory expertise ensuring our client's compliance needs are met (e.g RCRA, DOT, and OSHA)
Conduct spill response measures, including the assessment of the spills and cleanup efforts
Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience
Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of information
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes
Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
Ability to complete a 2 to 3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management
The Environmental Specialist frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive
Must be able to report to the Raleigh office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
Valid US driver's license
Must have a reliable form of transportation
Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
Preferred Requirements:
Prior relevant industry experience
Prior successful experience in a customer service role
Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
