1993

1993 EPAM opens for business in Princeton, NJ, with three employees

Since 1993, we’ve relied on our Engineering DNA to underpin our work with clients, leading to major innovations, digital transformations and business results.

More than 20 years later, in 1993, they started EPAM, a global software engineering services company.

EPAM was founded by Belarusians Arkadiy Dobkin in New Jersey, and Leo Lozner in Minsk on a partnership basis way back in 1993.

1995

EPAM's first major success came in 1995 when it started to work on sales force automation system development for Colgate.

1996

The project was noticed by SAP AG and EPAM was contracted for development of a system prototype to be presented at the annual SAP conference in 1996.

1997

1997 EPAM lands first major software product development client: SAP AG

1998

As his clientele were mainly companies from the US and from Europe the financial collapse of Russia in 1998 did not affect EPAM. Slowly, yet surely, the company started to grow.

2000

EPAM became a member of the S&P 500 and a Forbes Global 2000 company, and for the third consecutive year, EPAM ranked the Top IT services company on Fortune’s 100 Fastest-Growing Companies list.

By the time he was 31, he had emigrated without even knowing how to speak English with just $2000 in his account.

2002

In 2002, EPAM was ranked publicly for the first time as a fast-growing company by Deloitte & Touche.

2003

2003 EPAM completes its first decade having built a foundation of delivering Software Products and Solutions for more than 200 software companies

Joined the EPAM Family: LintecProject (2003)

2004

Since its launch in 2004, the University Program has helped meet the rising industry demand for skilled IT professionals by providing specialized training to students from Eastern and Central Europe.

By 2004, the company was generating over $30.1 million in revenues, growing consistently at 1,840.8 %! The number of employees was also doubling, with the company having only 1,001 employees at that time, to its 1400 in each centre now.

In 2004, EPAM acquired Fathom Technology, a software development services company based in Budapest, Hungary, expanding its offshore services beyond North America.

2006

In 2006, EPAM acquired VDI, a software development services company with delivery centers in Russia, which expanded the company’s presence in the CIS region.

2008

In 2008, EPAM Systems became the first resident of Belarus High Technologies Park, а business environment for IT companies with the aim to develop modern technologies and expand their exports.

2010

In 2010 in pursuit to strengthen it Business Information service offering EPAM acquired Instant Information, a leading provider of cloud based information management and discovery services.

2012

In May of 2012, EPAM Systems bought Canadian-based IT consulting and software development company, Thoughtcorp.

2012 Company of the Year from Stevie Winner (Bronze)

On Feb 7, 2012, EPAM Systems launched an IPO under the stock symbol “EPAM.”

In 2012, EPAM was listed on New York Stock Exchange under moniker EPAM, becoming the first company from Belarus on NYSE.

In late 2012, EPAM made two acquisitions – Thoughtcorp, which expanded its service offerings in Agile, business intelligence and mobile, and Empathy Lab, which established a digital engagement practice focusing on customer experience, design and eCommerce.

2013

2013 EPAM establishes its Digital Engagement practice and accelerates services to help clients in CX, design and eCommerce

2014

In March of 2014, EPAM Systems acquired the US-based healthcare technology consultancy, Netsoft USA. In April, EPAM Systems also went on to acquire Hong Kong-based Jointech, a tech services company.

2015

In July of 2015, EPAM Systems also bought US-based NavigationArts, a digital strategy consultancy as well as the American software product developer and automation tester company, Alliance Global Services, in November of the same year.

2016

In June of 2016, EPAM Systems also bought Dextrys, the US-based software engineering and app development company.

2016 EPAM is named by Forbes as Top 25 Fastest Growing Public Tech Companies

2018

In 2018, the company launched a search engine called InfoNgen 7.0, which was extremely intuitive and customizable.

EPAM made two acquisitions in 2018 to expand its service offerings: Continuum (now EPAM Continuum) and TH_NK to add consulting capabilities and develop its digital and service design practices.

2019

The company also productized TelescopeAI®, an artificial intelligence-based platform for IT operations and workforce management, which won a 2019 Big Innovation Award presented by the Business Intelligence Group.

In 2019, EPAM joined the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA). That year, the company launched EPAM Continuum, its service for business, experience and technology consulting.

2020

2020 EPAM is ranked as the Top IT services company on Fortune’s 100 Fastest-Growing Companies list for the 2nd year in a row

2021

In May 2021, EPAM acquired Just-BI, a Netherlands-based consultancy specializing in SAP/S4HANA and enterprise data and analytics program management.

In December 2021, EPAM joined the S&P 500.

2022

EPAM was ranked among the top 15 information technology services companies on the @FortuneMag 1000 list for the 4th year in a row! Based on total fiscal year, EPAM made a significant leap in the 2022 list. #Fortune1000 #ITServices #Fortune
