In 1975, Epson (Son of EP or Electronic Printer) was formally established as the next generation of printers based on the EP-101.
It was in the hope of sending future “sons” of this EP out into the world that the Epson brand was founded in 1975.
But in 1975, Epson started to create office equipment to meet the demands of the American electronics market.
Epson introduced personal use dot-matrix printers in 1978. “The dot-matrix printer came around right about the same time as the personal computer.
Shinshu Seiki Co., Ltd. (name changed to Epson Corporation in 1982), is established.
The first television watch is introduced and is recognized by the 1984 Guinness Book of Records as the world's smallest television.
They also are a part of the EPA, and support the Energy Star Program since it began in 1993.
SQ-2000: The first commercial Epson inkjet printer.
He has been with Epson for 21 years, having started as a product manager in the company’s printing group, eventually becoming CEO in 2016.
