    Prepare cost estimates/prices in accordance with established Estimating Processes and guidelines. Help develop and maintain databases for benchmarking and pricing. Help develop appropriate estimating models according with the Project/Proposal phase. Participate in estimating and group activities, as required. Training Junior or Intermediate Estimators if required. WORK PERFORMED: Prepare Cost Estimated for Projects and Proposals per client requirements and internal company estimating requirements. Gain full understanding of scope of work, business or project strategy and execution plan. Decide on estimating methodology to perform Cost Estimates. Develop or propose estimating cost breakdown according with Project or Proposal scope. Define input and level of cost breakdown of activities in agreement with procurement and engineering groups. Prepare cost estimates with the needed accuracy using company standard estimating processes, in-house benchmarking, internal developing models, quotes from vendors and any other method to obtain the desired accuracy level of the estimate in question. Utilize established Company Price Sheets and filling out Client bid form/breakdown requirements, where appropriate. Perform evaluation of cash flow and exposure, for proposals and/or projects when applicable. Initiate estimate/price review meetings. Make sure required approvals are given by management. Prepare Estimating presentation for proposals management review meetings. Attend client negotiations, as needed. Check final contract documents for correctness on price issues prior to signature. Make sure adequate security measures are implemented for all estimates/prices. Enter all relevant pricing data and back-up into the estimating groups filing system. Input relevant benchmark data from estimate into database. Hand over all relevant pricing data to project. Establish a system for follow up and feedback of real cost and unit (weights, manhours etc.) from projects. Make sure final cost and unit data from projects are entered into benchmark database. Work closely with other Estimators to guarantee the successful of the team. Review with Estimating Manager/Supervisor cost estimates for Projects and Proposals before submitted to Sales or Projects. JOB REQUIREMENTS: B.S in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instruments, etc.), or commercial/business discipline Minimum 12 years experience from engineering or construction related work, preferably oil and gas oriented. Minimum 5 years experience in estimating.

This role is responsible for reviewing bid invitations, preparing competitive proposals, and managing awarded projects from contract through completion - with a focus on maintaining profit margins, compliance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong experience working with General Contractors, municipalities, ISDs, and private developers, and understands the complexities of bonded public projects including documentation, scheduling, and coordination across multiple trades. Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Preconstruction - Review bid invitations, plans, specifications, and addenda for scope accuracy and compliance. - Perform detailed HVAC take-offs including equipment, materials, ductwork, piping, controls, and insulation. - Prepare complete cost estimates, incorporating labor, equipment, subcontractor, and crane costs. - Identify bid risks, clarify scope exclusions, and submit RFI's as needed. - Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure accurate and competitive pricing. - Prepare bid packages, proposal letters, and value engineering options for submission. - Track bid results, maintain a pipeline of opportunities, and develop relationships with key GCs and procurement offices. Project Management - Manage awarded projects from submittals through closeout, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability. - Coordinate equipment orders, crane lifts, delivery logistics, and site labor to align with project schedules. - Lead pre-construction meetings and ensure compliance with GC schedules, site rules, and safety requirements. - Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and O&M documentation. - Manage change orders, project RFIs, and communication between field teams and GCs. - Monitor project budgets, timelines, and job costing in real-time to maintain target gross margins. - Oversee project closeout including punch lists, warranty documentation, and lien releases. Compliance & Documentation - Prepare and manage all project documentation required for bonded or public work, including performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates, certified payroll, and lien waivers. - Ensure adherence to prevailing wage, OSHA safety, and project-specific compliance requirements. - Maintain records of submittals, correspondence, and cost tracking for audit readiness. Collaboration & Leadership - Work closely with the Service Manager, Install Foreman, and Accounting to ensure seamless coordination. - Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, engineers, and inspectors. - Support the executive team with project forecasting, margin analysis, and bid performance metrics. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating and/or project management (preferably with GC coordination). - Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems and installation methods. - Familiarity with public procurement, bonded projects, and certified payroll requirements. - Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and architectural drawings. - Experience using estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and project management tools. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. - Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record.
