Equipment installer job description

1. Load and unload equipment to take to specific job sites.

2. Install new food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems as required.

3. Diagnose and correct installation issues that may arise in various types of food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems upon installation.

4. Relocate and expand existing food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems as required.

5. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.

6. Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.

7. Carries out tasks as assigned by the Installation Manager.

8. Identifies damaged, lost, or missing materials that must be corrected for proper installation.

10. Follows all safety codes.

Delivery Driver (as needed):

1. Delivers goods to customers.

2. Confirms package(s) are not damaged.

3. Loads merchandise into van or truck.

4. Follows traffic signs to get to destination.

5. Reads and interprets maps and GPS directions.

6. Monitors traffic conditions to avoid delays.

7. Ensures address on package(s) matches up to delivery address.

8. Maintains logs of packages delivered.

9. Ensures inventory loads match shipping papers.

10. Performs daily pre-trip inspection on vehicle.

11. Maintains accurate daily log books for compliance under DOT.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse or various client locations depending on the installation job.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Must be able lift up to 50 lbs.

2. Must be able to push/pull up to a maximum of 100 lbs. Tools are generally used to assist with this.

3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the day.

4. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold/rain.

5. Must be able to reach/grab/bend/stoop/climb/walk regularly on a daily basis.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. Regular work day may vary per job completion.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

2. 1 - 2 years’ installation and driver experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Welding experience preferred but not required.

2. Must have a good driving record with valid driver’s license.

3. Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

4. Ability to use hand and power tools.

5. Must be able to diagnose and resolve problems.

7. Ability to listen and communicate (written and verbal) effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssemble, wire, and install aftermarket electrical systems according to manufacturer and vehicle specifications.Assemble and install flooring, shelving, and cabinetry on a wide variety of vehicle types and sizes.Perform functions and duties of the job that may require additional or different tasks to be performed when circumstances change (i.e., emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments).Other duties as assigned by the manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ABILITIESRequires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Normal range of hearing and vision.Able to lift 50 pounds regularly.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble, erect, set in place and/or fabricate engineered products on customer sites

Communicate with customer progress and completion on a daily basis to supervisor

Responsible for use, care and security of company owned tools requisitioned for jobs

Communicate with Systems Coordinator and Sales persons as required

Maintain acceptable appearance and professional decorum as a representative of Alliance Material Handling

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old

Ability to meet deadlines and be on time

Ability to speak clearly and professionally

Must be reliable with reliable transportation, travel to job sites as required (within one hour of Jessup branch)

Able to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently

Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Prior construction or labor intensive delivery driver experience a plus

Must be comfortable with overnight travel
