AIM World Services is seeking experienced Crane Operators to support critical operations at Naval Base Kitsap -Washington. The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable cranes to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, and materials in multiple directions in support of high-value national defense missions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate cranes to lift, move, and load machinery, equipment, and various loose materials.
Manipulate pedals and levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement in response to hand, voice, or signal instructions.
Observe load hookup and determine the safety and stability of loads prior to movement.
Conduct routine cleaning and lubrication of cranes and assist maintenance mechanics as needed.
Inspect cranes for mechanical or electrical defects and promptly report malfunctions to supervision.
Perform other related duties as assigned in support of operational requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications
Minimum of four (4) years of experience operating bridge, portal, or mobile cranes up to 120-ton capacity.
Ability to obtain and maintain:
Valid Washington State Class “A” Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Crane Operator Certification up to 120 tons.
Demonstrated knowledge of rigging and forklift operations.
Ability to obtain and maintain required medical certifications and operational explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.
Ability to meet and maintain company physical requirements, security requirements, and clearance eligibility as required by the contract.
Strong communication skills suitable for a team-based service environment.
Ability to successfully pass background checks and drug testing as required.

Position Responsibilities:
Operate cab-controlled overhead traveling cranes or mobile boom-type cranes to lift, move, lower, and position large aircraft, missile, and marine craft parts and assemblies.
Guide crane operations using visible or audible signals to ensure precise movements.
Select, secure, and adjust suitable chains, cables, slings, and hooks to properly load and balance various large assemblies and equipment.
Lower and raise personnel in launch silos during pre-launch checks and refurbishment of launch facilities.
Position, load, and unload weapon system components and associated equipment during assembly and testing of launch facilities.
Inspect the condition of the crane and all equipment to be used for work assignments before and after operation, reporting any required maintenance.
Perform routine maintenance on assigned motive equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Calculate safe load requirements prior to lifting to avoid exceeding lift capacity and ensure safe operations.
Use hand and audible signals to guide the movements of cab or radio-controlled cranes.
Coordinate and develop safety processes related to overhead crane operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Participate in safety improvement activities and projects, working on or coordinating the development of safety processes as needed.
Assist new employees in becoming familiar with equipment and procedures, providing on-the-job training to enhance their skills and safety awareness.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers to receive assignments and coordinate with crew members on the floor for efficient operations.
Report malfunctioning and unsafe equipment to ensure a safe working environment.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, the applicant must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that they possess the skill level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of an Engineering EquipmentOperator (Wildland Fire Dozer) without more than normal supervision.
WG Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. This must be verifiable on your application. Work is defined as: operating a variety of heavy equipment such as road graders, bulldozers, lowboys and water tenders; and operating heavy equipment in a safe manner.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification and selective placement factor requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort is used by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle controls to operate the equipment and attachments. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and the jerking and jolting from operating on rough surfaces. During fire suppression assignments, the operator is exposed to smoky conditions, fire burns, and other similar conditions.
Work Environment: Work is performed in all types of weather, often in an open driver's seat on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces, and forests. The operator is exposed to injury due to the possibility of the equipment overturning or to the possibility of being overrun by the wildfire.
This is a primary firefighter position under the special retirement provisions of 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) (CSRS) and 5 U.S.C. 8412(d) (FERS). The position is subject to maximum entry age (MEA) requirements. The MEA for this position shall not exceed age 37. If you are a preference eligible veteran, you may be eligible for this position after your 37th birthday. See Required Documents Section.

The Heavy EquipmentOperator is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment used to clear snow, maintain parking areas, and support winter operations at Mt. Baker Ski Area. This position will also report to the Heavy Equipment Manager, and the Mountain Manager(s) each day along with taking direction from the lead operator of the day. Must be 18 years of age or older.

General Responsibilities
Operate snow removal equipment, including but not limited to: front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and skid steers.
Clear and maintain parking lots, access roads, and staging areas to ensure safe and accessible conditions for guests and staff.
Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
Assist with hauling and relocating snow as needed.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, base area operations, and other departments for coordinated snow management.
Assist with setup and maintenance of parking lot signage, barriers, and traffic flow tools.
Support other base area tasks during low-snow or downtime periods, such as basic maintenance, event prep, or infrastructure work.
Adhere to all safety policies, operational protocols, and environmental regulations.
