Key Duties

Qualification Requirements
* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * D8 experience in placing rock embarkment and working steep slopes in mountain areas or rock quarries. (Minimum of 3 years preferred)
* Education and Experience. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Dozer Operator.
* A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
* Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
* Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
* Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Dozer Operator to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
* Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
* Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools.
* Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
* Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
* Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
* The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
* Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Dozer Operator encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
* Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.

Position Overview: This position requires relocation or a local candidate. The company does not offer relocation benefits. The position of a Scraper (Pan) Operator in the Grading Department is not an entry level job and requires previous experience in the grading industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performs pre and post daily inspection of scraper to ensure that the machine is in proper working order. Includes fluid checks and proper lubrication. Performs some maintenance and reports to supervisor when repair or other maintenance is needed
* Operates Scraper (Pan) to move dirt.
* Maintains clean housekeeping on machine and jobsite
Education and/or Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year previous experience (preferably more) operating a Scraper with emphasis on roads and highways is preferred.
* High school diploma/GED, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* Must have strong knowledge of grading
* Valid driver's license
* Must be safety oriented
* Ability to understand and follow oral instructions, communicate tactfully and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the public
* Able to learn and comply with all safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations
* Able to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
* Ability to travel and to work overtime when required
* Must be able to pass a drug screen
* Must have a strong work ethic
* Must be 18 years of age
Physical Demands: The physical demands below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
* Able to push and pull with hands, arms, and feet repetitively
* Must have good visual and auditory physical capabilities in order to manage sights and sounds in a hazardous construction environment
* Able to be alert and cognitive of multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including awareness of other employees, subcontractors, machinery, equipment, and moving traffic when applicable
* Coordination between hand, eyes, feet to guide equipment and objects is required
* Must be able to mount and dismount off of vehicles and equipment
* Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
* Must be able to travel as requested
* Must be able to work overtime as requested
* Must be able to walk on uneven terrain
* Able to lift up to 70 pounds

Our job sites are located in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky and our main office is located in Thomasville, NC. This position comes with a competitive wage of $24.00+/hour, depending on qualification.

THE INS AND OUTS OF YOUR NEW ROLE
THE SCHEDULE:
Our workweek starts on Tuesday and ends the following Monday. You spend 7 days on, then 7 days off.
YOUR ROLE:
As a valued member of our team, you perform a diverse range of tasks, including excavation, grading, dredging, erosion repairs, and pipe installation. Skillfully operating heavy equipment, such as excavators, skid steers, hydraulic dredges, and more, you lead the way in ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
You meticulously prepare construction sites, working in close collaboration with our team to ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment. With a strong commitment to efficiency and adherence to schedules and budgets, you go above and beyond to achieve remarkable results, time and time again.
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in landscaping, excavation, grading, or stormwater maintenance and repair
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to drive a truck with a 16 - 24 foot trailer, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 80 lbs.
Ideally, you should be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and terrain.
