What You Will Do
Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, rock trucks) to perform mass excavation and site preparation
Execute trench digging, ditch work, backfilling, and grading based on construction plans
Use GPS systems (Trimble Earthworks preferred) for precise excavation and mapping
Read and interpret blueprints to guide excavation and grading work
Maintain equipment through daily inspections and routine servicing
Assist in material handling: loading, unloading, spreading soil, gravel, or rocks
Follow strict safety protocols and conduct daily safety checks
Collaborate closely with crew members and foreman to meet project deadlines
Report equipment issues and assist with repair coordination
Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility on the job site
What You Bring
Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment for mass excavation
Proficient in operating excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, and related machinery
Experience using Trimble Earthworks or similar GPS-enabled control systems
Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of safety protocols in excavation and construction environments
Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred, with excellent driving record

The Operations Foreman supervises and performs manual work with contractor(s) and/or crews in the maintenance and operation of Company property and facilities. The work is performed under limited supervision and requires exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The operations foreman works closely with the superintendent to plan and schedule all events related to the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater system. The position is located in Kona, HI.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedules and performs manual work with contractor and/or crews in the maintenance and operation of Company property and facilities
Coordinates daily work orders with service personnel and maintenance crew
Provides training for employees
Investigates customer water quality and odor complaints
Operates, monitors, maintains records, schedules, and performs maintenance of wells, booster pumps, valves, tanks, sampling stations, water treatment and purification equipment, wastewater treatment equipment, gravity sewer mains, sewer pump stations, machinery, vehicles, and auxiliary engines
Performs tank inspection and leak detection
Locates water mains, meters, valves, sewer clean outs and other Company facilities as required
Collects water quality and wastewater samples and hands off to courier who delivers to water quality laboratory
Repairs and services pumping and treatment equipment, valves, and mains
Oversees and directs employees for loading, testing, chlorinating, and sampling of mains
Oversees, records, and updates the superintendent with measurements of fittings and equipment in service dates as installed by contractor (as built)
Assists and coordinates the Flushing Program, valve maintenance program, sewer manhole inspections, maintenance of the grounds, and cleaning of reservoirs
Works with superintendent to assist Department of Health on Sanitary Surveys for water and wastewater systems in the assigned region
Partners with the superintendent to work directly with other HWS managed water and wastewater systems and their operations
Performs data entry for events that occur on water and wastewater systems
Maintains spare parts inventory and creates purchase requests for approval by system superintendent
Participates in and supports the Company's Continuous Improvement Program and projects
Performs work on-site in the assigned location
Performs daily rounds of water and wastewater facilities to support operation
Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School or possession of a GED
One year of experience working in a construction, plumbing, or utility environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Training and Experience:
* Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation and maintenance of a truck-tractor with a 16 ton trailer, and
* experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation and maintenance of a D-8 bulldozer, as applicable to the position, and
* applicants will be required to demonstrate such competency by satisfactorily passing an assessment exercise administered by the Department of Environmental Management, and
* possession of a valid State of Hawai'i Commercial Driver License (Class A) at time of appointment*; (If you have an out-of-state CDL, you must transfer it to a Hawai`i issued CDL by the time of appointment), and
* a current Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certificate at the time of filing (scan and attach a copy of your current certificate to your application), and

Position Summary
A Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Heavy Equipment Operator (Technical/Support II) position is available at Schofield Barracks, HI with Colorado State University (CSU) and the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) services to complete soil stabilization and vegetation management activities for Range Division Hawaii at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. HEOs will conduct work in support of the Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) component of the Army's Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program.
This position will operate heavy equipment such as 10-to-25-ton dump trucks, dozers, motor graders, front-in loaders, vibratory compactors, scrapers, forestry mowers (FECON), track hoes, agricultural tractors, and back hoes for the purpose of completing LRAM projects. Primary functions are soil stabilization and vegetation management on Army lands. This position will also require tracking and preparing daily and weekly reports.
Schofield Barracks was established in 1908 to provide mobile defense of Pearl Harbor and the entire island. Located 20 miles from Honolulu on the plateau or "central valley" of Oahu between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island, the nearly 18,000-acre installation is home to the U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii.

What You Will Do
Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, rock trucks) to perform mass excavation and site preparation
Execute trench digging, ditch work, backfilling, and grading based on construction plans

Read and interpret blueprints to guide excavation and grading work
