**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to service the Tri-Cities region. The role involves digging trenches for pipe laying, foundations, and other underground utility installations, as well as assisting in the installation and repair of water and sewer lines. The operator must follow safety procedures and protocols when excavating near underground utilities, employing locating devices and proper trenching and shoring techniques. We are looking for candidates with expertise in Water & Sewer, Infrastructure, Storm Water Management, Grading, Underground Utilities, and Land Management & Conservation.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
+ Dig trenches for pipe laying, foundations, or other underground utility installations.
+ Assist in the installation and repair of water and sewer lines.
+ Follow safety procedures and protocols for excavating near underground utilities.
+ Utilize locating devices and proper trenching and shoring techniques.
+ Specialize in areas such as Water & Sewer, Infrastructure, Storm Water Management, Grading, Underground Utilities, and Land Management & Conservation.
**Essential Skills**

What You'll Do:
Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Follow established traffic patterns, avoiding hazardous conditions and immediately reporting unsafe ones.
Operate Mobile Equipment Loaders. Operate mobile equipment loaders to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant, and safely load customers' trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits. Operate a loader to strip and prep the mining site and push material closer to the feeder for processing.
Monitor Materials. Maintain an adequate feed of materials and maintain stockpiles. Visually inspect materials for compliance with specifications.
Perform Inspections and Maintenance. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports. Observe the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required. Clean yard and plant areas. Participate in maintenance, repair, and general plant housekeeping activities.
