We are growing and have an excellent opportunity for a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator at our Omaha branch, especially backhoe and/mini excavator for sewer & water service repairs/replacements. The average salary for this position is $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
Operates back-hoe, mini-excavator, skid steers, and/or other excavation machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials on residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with a crew to efficiently complete excavation work on various projects.
Interact with customers as needed, providing excellent customer service and addressing their requirements professionally.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather all necessary equipment from the branch and/or rental companies to ensure smooth operations during excavation tasks.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly, ensuring safe driving and operation of service vehicles between locations.
Requirements
Essential requirement: Construction experience in both residential and commercial projects.
Mandatory requirement: Possession of a current CDL Class A license for this position.
Trenchless water, sewer & gas experience is a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Assists in the loading / unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments and properly securing work area.
Extensive knowledge of rigging compliance and procedures along with the ability to operate within equipment load limits.
Performs daily inspection and ensures that equipment is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
Communicates and coordinates with site supervisor to efficiently complete daily tasks to ensure project deadlines and schedules are maintained.

Works closely with crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination and stamina necessary to complete jobs with various conditions and terrains.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds and push / or pull 50 pound loads at a time.
Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet) and able to perform work on uneven surfaces.
