Full-time Description The Lease Operator is responsible for safe and efficient daily operations of our natural gas system. This is a mid-level position which will require the ability to perform duties independently or with assistance as necessary. Responsibilities Travel to each location to gather, record, and report all relevant information (i.e., gauges, levels, fluids, pressures, production, etc., in an accurate and consistent manner). This is applicable to Lease Operators only. Inspect locations for any leaks, spills, and recognize any potential issues. Contact immediate supervisor with any relevant issues, or significant production loss in a timely manner. Applicable to lease operators, foreman, meter techs, and superintendents. Record and process all paperwork, inspections, timecards, and expense reports in a timely manner. Identify and diagnose any problems on location and repair without supervision. Maintain and increase production through good, daily operations by properly utilizing tools the tools and equipment available. Perform all other duties required for which the employee is qualified and trained. Requirements 2+ years of oilfield experience Competent with Microsoft Excel, Outlook Express, Cygnet, PRAMS, WellEZ, and Spotfire. Must be able to perform simple daily tasks with hand tools. The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Equipment support, equipment maintenance, and light and heavy vehicles on assigned projects or activities of a public works nature. The position requires manual labor, completed alone or as part of a crew. You will perform a variety of manual tasks and activities, i.e., perform work in stormwater maintenance. Work includes on-site maintenance, cleaning, servicing equipment, emergency needs, vehicles, tools, and the work area. Inspects vehicles for required supplies, materials, and equipment. Observe and follow safety procedures and precautions at work sites. This position is designated among essential personnel and requires reporting to work during all significant weather events or emergencies. * Direct Supervisor: Crew Leader and Foreman * Drives and operates various Stormwater Department equipment and vehicles to accomplish a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, hauling, dumping, and spreading gravel, sand, asphalt, plowing snow, picking up and hauling debris, and transporting Stormwater Department equipment, tools, and material. Performs various vehicle and equipment maintenance duties, including, but not limited to, performing preventative maintenance and assisting mechanics as needed. Reports equipment failures/deficiencies to supervisor as required. * Clears and maintains creeks, channels, storm drains, welds, guard rail repair, and camera recordings of pipes/drains, including, but not limited to, hauling and spreading materials, loading, and unloading various items such as dirt, debris, brush, yard waste, discarded furniture and appliances, trees/limbs, cement, construction materials, and repairs stormwater drainage pipes. * Performs a variety of labor-intensive duties, including, but not limited to, cleaning vehicles, job sites, and shop/garage, loading and unloading vehicles, patching and repairing storm drains, inlet boxes, channels, shoveling gravel/concrete (other material as needed), trimming and /or removing trees. * Performs a variety of vehicle and equipment maintenance duties, including, but not limited to, monitoring/checking vehicle lighting systems, brakes, horns, safety devices, and gauges, checking fluid levels, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting mechanics as needed. Reports equipment failures/deficiencies to supervisor as required. * Maintains a safe work area, including places and removes cones, barricades, and warning devices, and/or directs traffic at work sites to ensure the safety of work crew and public; cleans up work sites upon completion of the job; picks up all tools and equipment; secures the job site if returning later; washes vehicles and equipment as needed; cleans up shop areas; maintains tools and equipment in safe and operable conditions; safe use, mix, and dilute all chemicals according to direction labels; and when operating motor vehicles, observe safe driving principles and practices. * Responsible for the application inventory, distribution, storage, procurement, and spraying of herbicides, pesticides, chemicals, and fertilizers in one or more areas: roadsides, rights-of-way, ditches, and easements. * Prepares the job site for chemical preparation, identifies vegetation, determines the proper mix of chemicals to apply, determines the spraying equipment to utilize, checks weather conditions, and may notify area owners. * Maintains accurate daily records of areas sprayed in compliance with EPA regulations; documents a description of the area, time of day, temperature, rate of chemical, wind conditions, type of chemical, the amount applied, and related costs associated with each sprayed area. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of highways, road curbs, and gutters. Safely and correctly apply road construction and maintenance techniques. Safely operate light and heavy road maintenance and construction vehicles and equipment. * Knowledge of how to safely operate, but not limited to gas-powered jackhammers, tampers, saws, backhoes, grade all, 1- or 2-ton trucks, mini and large excavators, off-road vehicles, industrial mowers, skid steers, chain saws, or woodchippers. * Ability to adhere to the personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individually provided PPE in a functional condition. All uniforms and PPE should be clean and equipped when scheduled to work. * Attend shifts according to company policy. This position is subject to responding to emergencies after normal working hours. Occasional overtime required. Ability to be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and time of shift change. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and officials, representatives of outside agencies, and the general public. High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have one (1) year of experience in the care and handling of a 3-ton and/or 5-ton dump truck safely around others, as well as the mechanical experience to make minor repairs on the equipment listed above. A combination of education, experience, or training that has prepared the incumbent to perform the essential duties of the position. Must have a Texas Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement and a good driving record throughout the length of employment. Must have a strong work ethic and be able to manage time to meet deadlines effectively.
