We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy EquipmentOperator to support operations involving the collection and transportation of materials from designated locations. This role involves operating motorized equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safe and efficient site practices. This is a full-time position with a consistent daytime schedule and occasional weekend or holiday rotation (not to exceed 40 hours per week).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate heavy trucks and equipment to collect and transport containers from designated sites.
Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, materials handled, and routes completed.
Conduct daily inspections and perform light maintenance on trucks and equipment.
Identify and report equipment breakdowns or service needs to supervisor and assist in repairs when necessary.
Communicate regularly with supervisor to receive instructions and report issues.
Follow safe driving practices and all applicable traffic laws.
Survey collection sites and report any operational or environmental issues.
Ensure that only authorized materials are collected and transported.
Check equipment daily for fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and other safety components.
Complete maintenance logs and repair requests as needed.
Fuel vehicles and equipment and ensure they are kept clean, inside and out.
Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of safe public service and communication techniques.
Ability to operate, maintain, and inspect heavy motorized equipment.
Capable of performing physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
Familiarity with identifying authorized vs. prohibited materials.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot daily operational issues.
Strong attention to safety and regulatory compliance.
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others.
Education & Experience
Less than high school diploma or GED accepted.
Prior experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
Equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Regular movement including climbing, pushing/pulling, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
Exposure to outdoor elements, mechanical vibrations, and potentially hazardous materials.
Must be able to operate vehicles, perform visual inspections, and complete written reports.
Special Requirements
Valid Driver's License required.

About the Position
The Heavy EquipmentOperator will be assigned to a crew performing general maintenance on the City's right of ways. The primary responsibility of this position will be to safely and effectively operate a backhoe/ loader, run chainsaws, bucket trucks, and dump trucks, but not limited to boom tractors. This position will be required to be in an on-call status for any tree-related problems for 24 hours a day for a seven day period. This position could also be required to work on the City's snow program. The assigned schedule is subject to change and emergency callbacks can occur 24 hours a day during emergencies and/or weather events. The physical duties include: stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, climbing, shoveling, and heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions and may require a flexible schedule with little or no notice that may include weekends and holidays. This employee must maintain a reliable means of contact (i.e. home or cellular telephone) for call-back duties and/ or emergency situations. This employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's Permit within 30 days and a valid Class A unrestricted Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement within 120 days of employment.

Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC (“HGC”) is actively seeking an experienced Dozer Operator. This position will be under the direction and supervision of a foreman or superintendent and will work with a team of other construction professionals. The job description noted below is not intended to describe, in detail, the multitude of tasks that may be assigned but rather to give the employee a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of his/her position.
What You Bring:
· Operate dozer in a skilled and safe manner in compliance with HGC's operating safety policies and procedures.
· Level material, move rock or debris and work slopes.
· Pay attention to detail while grading on site.
· Drive dozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower to specified grade.
· Understand how to read grade stakes.
· Utilize HGC's core values in daily duties.
· Communicate professionally with everyone on site, including but not limited to supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients and vendor partners.
· Understand, interpret and follow goals and directions from a foreman or superintendent.
· Maintain attendance at work, including presence at work during regular work hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the foreman or superintendent. Acceptance of overtime assignments also may be required in order to operational needs.
· Attend training at HGC Academy

· Perform other various assignments as assigned.
What our team needs from you:
· Must have previous experience operating a dozer.
· Must be willing to work Monday through Friday 7AM-5:30PM, or other schedule as may be assigned by the foreman or superintendent, as well as Saturdays when needed.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
· Must be able to understand site goals and direction.
· Must pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Must be 18 years of age or older.

· Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time, as well as stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required to perform essential duties.
