The operator must be proficient in operating machinery such as D8-D9 dozers and 345-352 excavators in accordance with project specifications to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the daily servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project duration. The equipment operator will need to be highly skilled in navigating and operating machinery in mountainous terrain, which presents unique challenges such as pioneering access to build up extremely steep slopes, uneven surfaces, rocky mountain terrain, and potential for landslides or loose soil. Proper training in mountain-specific safety protocols, equipment handling, and environmental considerations is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations in this rugged environment. 30-85% GRADE IN SHEER ROCK CONDITIONS. As a Senior Heavy Equipment Operator in Closed Landfills, you will maintain County closed landfills and burn sites, supporting regulatory compliance and protecting public health and safety. Senior Heavy Equipment Operators provide a leadership role in major maintenance projects, operate and train on heavy equipment, and oversee teams and support in minor maintenance including manual labor duties via the use of hand tools.
