Job Description
The Equipment Operator will work collaboratively with the Laborers and Foreman for completion of jobsite activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, backhoes, etc.
Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping, and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, and stockpiling.
Utilize GPS systems, read and understand grade stakes and hubs for grade control and finishing
Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
Work outdoors on location in all weather conditions and on all terrain
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment
Repair or assist in the repair and maintenance of the construction vehicles
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required including fluid and filter changes and parts lubrication
Clean equipment as scheduled or when required
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when finished for the day
Practice workplace safety per OSHA standards
Ability to work independently and to stay on top of the schedule
Willingness to do work outside of equipment operations, which includes but is not limited to general labor work
Maintains a neat appearance and dresses appropriately for the job

General Summary:
