Operate a small cargo truck to deliver packages throughout the site, ensuring timely and accurate distribution. Utilize a tractor for transporting loose freight, running shuttle routes for materials and garbage pickup, and moving aircraft components using tow bars and wheel chocks. Ride in the cockpit and operate brakes as necessary while the airplane is being towed, using motorized equipment to move scaffolding, jacks, and generators to and from airplanes. Assess safe load requirements, including weight and size, prior to lifting with a forklift to avoid exceeding equipment capacity. Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper handling and organization of materials, and check materials against shipping records to obtain receipts. Couple and uncouple associated equipment as necessary to facilitate deliveries and handle tow bars and chock wheels for towing operations. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform daily safety and mechanical inspections, including checking fuel, oil, and water levels, and refueling as necessary. Inspect vehicles for physical damage and report any issues to ensure safe working conditions, completing a pre-use inspection checklist. Use a sweeper to clean various areas within the factory and field positions as required. Keep a constant check on all airplanes stored on outside ramps for security, ensuring tie-down ropes are secure, cowl lines are intact, windows are closed, and controls are locked. Perform liaison duties between the Transportation Department and Maintenance or other shop sections, transporting equipment in need of repair to and from the maintenance garage. Physical Demands and Potential Hazards: Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. Read and interpret construction plans, instructions, and specifications. Assist with traffic control around work zones when necessary. Measure, mark, and record distances and layouts to support construction work. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job DescriptionSalary: Key Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Finish Dozer Operator include, but are not limited to: (Dozer GPS-Guided Finish Grading) Topcon GPS System Setup & Calibration Assemble, mount, and level GPS on dozer. Perform daily calibration, verify signal integrity, and troubleshoot satellite connectivity. Upload and transfer new models into the dozer GPS A full understanding of the GPS components and basic diagnostics on GPS issues Finish Dozer Operations Execute blade movements to maintain design elevations within specified tolerances ( 0.05 ft or as directed). Monitor slope, crossfall, and grade targets on in-cab display; adjust blade pitch accordingly. Build Cut/Fill slopes to ( 0.15 ft or as directed).\ Work with Scarper Cut/fill Operations Finish Grade Production Follow the 3D model data to grade surfaces to set tolerances. Establish smooth transitions between contours; eliminate high/low spots. Able to interpret the GPS model and grade to the needed tolerances Monitor slope, crossfall, and grade targets on in-cab display; adjust blade pitch accordingly. Understand how to use the proper offsets/ hold-downs and polylines for neat line grading. Machine Diagnostics & Maintenance Conduct pre-shift start-up checks: fluid levels, track tension, sensor mounting. Observe onboard diagnostics, report error codes or mechanical Issues to the Field Foreman. Understand the wear parts of the dozer and be able to identify when they need to be changed. Material Handling Load, spread, and cut borrow or fill material as needed to achieve design grade. Work with large hauling operations to spread fill materials and keep materials balanced for finish grades. Additional Responsibilities & Requirements Grade Stake & Plan Interpretation Read and apply traditional grade stakes/ slope stakes and basic drawings when GPS is offline. Communication & Coordination Communicate clearly with surveyors, ground personnel, truck drivers, and supervisors via radio or hand signals. Relay real-time grade adjustments and equipment needs. Work with the on-site mechanic or Shop Foreman to resolve any equipment breakdown issues. Perform basic daily maintenance on equipment operated as needed. Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently. Minimum 8 years experience. Safety & Compliance Comply with company safety policies, EEO policies, and standard company procedures. Wear appropriate protective equipment: steel-toed boots, hard hats, eye protection, and ear protection. Administration Ability to fill out timecard and equipment inspections daily. General Employment Requirements High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred Have a current drivers license Willing to work overtime, as required. The work schedule is weather dependent, so flexibility is required. Work is performed outdoors, which could include inclement weather, heat and cold, and exposure to dust. Must comply with the companys drug and alcohol testing requirements.
