    Responsible for the production of high quality laminated thin films on a Coating & Laminating production line in a clean room environment. Job Duties: Work with C & L supervision to perform the following tasks: Load and unload raw film material - rolls of film with the assistance of an overhead crane. Load and unload plastic cores for the winding process associated with the final roll or finished goods product. Monitor product quality, roll starts, and properly segregate non-conforming materials. Monitor and attend to the various solvent based adhesive coating applicators, supply vessels and chemical drum supply. Monitor and correct any coating disruptions or non-conformances. Work with maintenance personnel to identify any machine issues for repair of replacement. Clean-up the equipment with solvent based cleaning solutions at the end of the production week. Hours: 40 hours per week, three to four 12 hour shifts, 7 am to 7 pm, Monday thru Thursday. Occasional over time is required. (Thursday afternoon thru Saturday ) Minimum Qualifications: Basic math skills Ability to Climb 2 flights of stairs Ability to work safely with flammable solvents Ability to use spreadsheeting software Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate professionally in a concise and accurate manner Physical Requirements: Ability to routinely walk up and down multiple flights of stairs Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted Ability to stand for most of the working shift Working conditions can be noisy/dusty/hot/cold Education: 4 year High School Diploma and /or 2 to 5 years of experience or training in the operations of industrial equipment preferred. Transports gaylords of product from staging area to the tipper. Inspects tipper for proper operation before the beginning of shift. Maintains and initials daily maintenance log, notates any issues. Communicates all equipment malfunctions and safety issues to supervisor immediately. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures work area is free of obstacles and hazards. Meets pre-determined daily goals for gaylords produced. Assists in any other projects as determined by management. Environmental Factors Must be able to work in an open warehouse environment being exposed in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold. Due to the donation of materials, dust and animal hair may be present in the warehouse throughout the year. with merchandise or donations. Work at times can be conducted in an outdoors environment where no cooling or heating will be available. Physical Factors Lift/Carry: up to 50lbs. Push/Pull: up to 100 lbs.     Amentum is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Las Vegas, NV area. Purpose and Scope: Under indirect supervision of the Site Superintendent and/or a HEO-Lead, exercises independent judgment to accomplish assigned tasks. Operates heavy equipment such as cranes, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments. Equipment is used to excavate, load or move dirt, gravel or other materials. Operator may read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans. May grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment. Essential Responsibilities: Ensures work accomplished is in compliance with government regulations and all building codes, provides material requirement listing for work in government acceptable format. Ability to maintain required readings, records and documentation, operates equipment and machinery related to HEO's duties and responsibilities in pavements and grounds operation to include crushers and chip spreaders. Must be able to research and identify road surface requirements and calculate material requirements for road preservation. Must be able to provide leadership to independent work groups for the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Must be able to ensure quality control standards are maintained on all work performed. Ensures that safe work practices and procedures are accomplished both in independent and small work groups. Must possess the ability to operate general and special purpose vehicles. Must possess the ability to plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, schematics, or verbal instructions using a variety of measuring instruments and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work. Perform related duties as required and assigned by the site Superintendent or the HEO-Lead and perform other duties and assignments as assigned. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer at least 4 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator acquired through training and or experience under a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent or must be able to pass a practical skills test administered in a variety of equipment to include but not limited to a backhoe, bulldozer, scraper, road grader and front-end loader. Must be able to satisfactorily answer a variety of interview questions. Must possess a valid Nevada Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ability to be punctual, and possess patience to work under stressful conditions. Ability to identify areas requiring immediate attention and the use of practical skill to solve problems. Fluent in English as exemplified in writing and in verbal skills. Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential accident could exist or exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
