We are seeking a Multifamily Construction Sr. Superintendent with extensive experience in deep foundation and shoring for a high-density residential development in Seattle's University District. JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead all jobsite activity from mobilization through podium, with focus on: Excavation support (soldier piles, lagging, tiebacks), Mat slab or pile cap systems, Waterproofing and dewatering systems, Podium structure transition and MEP coordination.
Execute daily field operations with attention to tight right-of-way, pedestrian safety, and heavy equipment coordination within a constrained urban footprint.
Coordinate with geotechnical consultants and shoring engineers to implement pre-approved excavation support plans.
Manage utility coordination and shoring adjacent to existing structures, including potential UW properties and rights-of-way.
Serve as field liaison with Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections (SDCI) and the University of Washington
Planning/Facilities when applicable.
Drive site safety compliance, particularly in areas such as excavation, fall protection, and trenching.
Enforce QA/QC standards across all structural elements, including formwork, shotcrete, waterproofing membranes, and envelope interfaces.
Track critical path activities for early-stage trades and monitor pre-pour checklists and concrete placement logistics.
Required Experience:
8-12 years of field leadership in multifamily or mixed-use construction (ground-up projects preferred), including at least 5 years in the Seattle metro.
Direct experience managing deep excavation and shoring systems in the U District or similar Seattle neighborhoods (Capitol Hill, Roosevelt, Northgate, etc.).
Proven track record with projects involving tight site access, adjacent structure protection, and utility coordination with SPU/SCL.
Expert in reading and implementing structural shoring plans, tieback layouts, waterproofing submittals, and dewatering systems.
Familiarity with: SDCI preconstruction and inspection protocols, ROW Management Plans (TMP/SDOT), Temporary tieback easements, and vibration monitoring.
OSHA 30 certified and CPR/First Aid trained.
