October 6, 1977 - the government created the Department of Energy (DOE) and consequently abolished the OIC, which was replaced by the creation of the Board of Energy (BOE) through Presidential Decree No.

In 1988, she boldly left the security of her professorship at the University of Tennessee Space Institute to work as chairman and CEO of Engineering Research & Consulting (ERC), a company without any employees or customers.

2001
