WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Complete Salesforce Trailhead training to develop foundational knowledge of Salesforce concepts, tools, and best practices.
Assist with integrating external systems into Salesforce, learning about APIs, data mapping, and automation processes.
Gain hands-on experience with Apex development, including triggers, classes, and test methods.
Support data cleansing efforts by identifying duplicate records, correcting inconsistencies, and ensuring data integrity.
Learn about Ergon's business processes and how Salesforce is leveraged to support sales, service, and operational functions.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand user needs and gather requirements.
Participate in team meetings, actively contributing ideas and solutions to improve Salesforce processes.
Document processes, solutions, and best practices to support knowledge sharing across the team.
Develop practical communication skills to interact with technical peers and business users confidently.
Assist in testing and validating new Salesforce features and updates before deployment.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for enthusiastic students who meet the following criteria:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Computer Science or a similar field.
Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of Java, Python, SQL, and Web Frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)
Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT
Work Schedule: This is an onsite role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift daily.
Work Environment: You'll work in various office/plant environments where you'll encounter moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and more.
Transportation: Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from their worksites.

The Project Engineer supports Ergon's Corporate Engineering function by managing capital projects across Ergon's Refineries and Chemical Plants. This role provides end-to-end project leadership for medium to large capital investments, typically ranging from $2MM to $50MM, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and high-quality execution.
Working closely with Facility Management, Business Unit Operations, and Corporate Engineering, the Project Engineer leads project scoping, budgeting, execution planning, and delivery while championing best practices, strong contractor partnerships, and disciplined project management processes. This position plays a critical role in supporting Ergon's long-term facility planning, operational reliability, and customer-focused growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as Project Manager for assigned capital projects, providing leadership through scope development, engineering design, budgeting, contractor selection, execution, and closeout
* Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, cost controls, and risk mitigation strategies
* Lead the development of Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs) and support funding approval processes
* Coordinate with engineering consultants and contractors to develop scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and technical deliverables
* Review and approve drawings, specifications, calculations, and project documentation
* Provide oversight of construction activities to ensure safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost control
* Participate in PSSR, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and project close-out activities
* Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations
* Develop, track, and report project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Support due diligence activities for asset acquisitions and greenfield facility evaluations
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to support long-term execution success
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline (required)
* Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision
