Position Summary
Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling property claims within designated level of authority. Also responsible for servicing assigned territory and may handle litigated claims.
This is a remote/work from home (within the listed territory) position.
Strong preference will be given to applicants that reside in Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster, Adams, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties.
The successful candidate will ideally reside within the Harrisburg Branch territory, which includes the following counties: Adams, Berks, Bradford, Centre, Columbia, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, York or the close surrounding areas
A company car and equipment to work from home will be provided
The hiring manager will also consider candidates for Property Adjuster II. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
Contacts Policyholders regarding property claims within level of authority. Conducts investigations, interviews insureds and witnesses, inspects damage and prepares estimates. Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding coverage of claims.
Handles property claims within designated authority. Sets and maintains adequate reserves. Obtains and reviews reports, statements, records and related materials as required. Evaluates information to determine coverage and total value of claim. Determines payments and issues checks or declines payment as required.
Documents claim files and submits final report to file for closure.
Identifies subrogation situations and initiates appropriate action.
Services assigned territory and brings assigned claims to conclusion.
Interacts with Agents and district sales managers on matters of mutual concern.
Handles property claims involving damages or coverage. May handle litigated claims, including negotiating with plaintiff attorney, or coordinates litigation with defense counsel as required.
Develops and applies a working knowledge of estimating practices and procedures relating to the adjustment of property claims.
Attends industry-related training programs and attends other training sessions to stay current on policy changes, interpretation or new legislation.
Successfully completes Technical Learning Center Training within one year of hire date.
Participates on Catastrophe Team when required.

High School Diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required; or
High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of ERIE sponsored formal education; or
Bachelor's Degree required.
Additional Experience
Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
Position requires incumbent to serve on catastrophe duty, which may include travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks.

As an ambassador for GEICO's renowned customer service, you will work in a dynamic environment that may include repair shops, salvage yards, and customer's homes. Annual Salary
$32.05 - $57.49

As a Field Property Adjuster, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Job Description
This job is responsible for investigating complex, represented claims which typically will include: uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims in single or multi car accidents, and represented moderate or major claims. The individual also may handle complex CPL claims or specialized claims (e.g., business interruption, loss of income, E&O policies, etc.). The individual takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use claims, makes payments to appropriate parties, and negotiates and settles or refers bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.
This position is for our Represented Litigation Casualty office with a focus on handling UM/UIM claims in the states of TX, CA, and UT.
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in liability investigations, bodily injury claim evaluations, and negotiation preferred
Casualty claim handling experience is required
Previous experience in bodily injury claims handling or a related field
Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone, to establish rapport and assess claims accurately.
Ability to work independently and remotely, while managing time efficiently
Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage, and liability determination
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate and negotiate injury claims successfully

Remote Home-Based Work
This position is a permanent remote home-based role. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is not available for California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico residents.
Schedule: Mon-Fri | 8am-4:30pm or 9am-5:30pm
When you work from home full time, you'll need:
A home office - a dedicated workspace in your residence that is private and free from distractions.

Job Description
The Allstate Dealer Service (ADS) VSC (Vehicle Service Contract) Mechanical Claims Adjuster is an intermediate-level role responsible for adjudicating mechanical claims, reviewing inspection reports, and handling some ancillary claims for extended warranties. This position requires the use of mechanical knowledge and repair facility experience to adjudicate claims according to warranty contract specifications. The adjuster must be able to make decisions in a fast-paced call center environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Compile, review, and provide moderately complex to complex mechanical damage estimates, and manage the settlement process.
Research reasonable part costs and labor rates in the local market.
Accurately document notes and the repair decision-making process.
Adjudicate claims promptly and efficiently, with minimal supervision, using prior mechanical experience to determine coverage per contract terms.
Prepare repair estimates through discussions with dealerships or independent repair facilities.
Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
Communicate with customers, dealerships, and independent repair facilities in a call center environment.
Contact customers, agreement holders, inspectors, vendors, and others to secure necessary information as needed.
Confirm facts and determine if further follow-up is required.
Shift Schedule:
An 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern, subject to change based on business needs.
Rotational Saturday duty one time per month from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
ASE Certifications are a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive dealerships or independent repair facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little to no direction and oversight. Makes decisions within delegated authority as outlined in company policies and procedures.
Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices to resolve cases in alignment with company guidelines.
Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices to ensure reserve adequacy. Adheres to file conferencing notification and authority procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of insurance and applicable product/services; court decisions which may impact the claims function; current guidelines; and policy changes and modifications. This may require attending various seminars and training sessions.
Maintains current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.
Submits severe incident reports, reinsurance reports and other information to claims management as needed.
Partners with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities. Assists or prepares files for lawsuit, trial, or subrogation.
Initiates and conducts follow-ups through proficient use of claims and other related business systems.
Delivers an outstanding customer service experience to all internal, external, current and prospective Nationwide customers. Adheres to high standards of professional conduct while providing delivery of outstanding claim's service.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Claims Manager. Individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
License/Certification/Designation: State licensing where required. Successful completion of required/applicable claims certification training/classes.
Experience: Three to five years of related property claims experience. Experience in a customer service environment, including flexible work schedules and extended work hours preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: General knowledge of insurance theory and practices, and contracts and their application. Property estimating and automated claims systems. Demonstrated knowledge of the investigation, consultation and settlement activities used to resolve extensive property damage claims. Proven ability to meet customer needs and provide exemplary meaningful service by guiding customers through the claims process and ensuring a positive customer experience. Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues related to application of coverages to submitted claims, application of laws of jurisdiction to investigation facts, and application of policy exclusions and exceptions. Ability to establish repair requirements and cost estimates for property losses. Ability to evaluate and successfully advise on property claims. Organizational skills to prioritize work. Command of written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with policyholders, claimants, repairpersons, attorneys, agents and the general public. Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and related claims and business software. Able to provide leadership to less experienced claims associates. Must be able to safely access and inspect rooftops using a ladder. Must be prepared and capable of conducting physical inspections on rooftops, including first and second story roofs with pitches up to 8/12.

This is a field-based role on the National Catastrophe Response Team. This position is responsible for managing property claims in response to catastrophic events across the country. As a field-based adjuster, you will be deployed to areas impacted by large-scale disasters-such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, or other major events-to assess damages, support policyholders, and help communities begin the recovery process. The role requires extensive travel (up to 80%), often on short notice, and the ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments for extended periods.
You will regularly engage in direct, and at times, emotionally charged conversations with customers-clearly explaining coverage decisions, setting expectations, and delivering difficult news with empathy and professionalism. The ability to remain composed and compassionate in the face of loss, frustration, or uncertainty is essential.
